Only one of them can be activated at a time. · The Ethernet copper ports on the LSUM2GV48SE0, LSUM2GT48SE0, LSUM2GT24TSSE0, and LSUM2GT24PTSSE0 cards and all fiber ports cannot be configured or automatically negotiated to operate in half-duplex mode. You must install the subcards in base cards.
The LSR1DRUP1L1 subcards must be installed in both slots 1 and 2 of an LSUM1SPMAEC0 base card.
To connect two subcards in different S10500 switches, connect the subcard in slot 1 on one base card to that in slot 2 on the other-end base card, or vice versa.

Restrictions and guidelines
Follow these restrictions and guidelines to use the service modules:
· The LSUM2GV48SE0 interface card is supported only by the S10506 and S10510 switches.
· The LSQ series OAA cards are supported only by the S10504, S10506, S10508, S10508-V, and S10512 switches. For the OAA cards to successfully start up, make sure a minimum of one switch fabric module is installed in either of the two lowest numbered switching fabric module slots.
· Do not install any one of the following cards on an S10510 switch when the LSUM2MPU10C0 MPU is used:
¡ EA cards, except the LSU1TGS8EA0.
¡ EB cards, except the LSU1TGS8EB0.
¡ SE cards LSU1GP24TXSE0, LSU1GT48SE0, LSU1GP48SE0, LSU1TGX4SE0, and LSU1GP24TSE0.
¡ OAA cards, except the LSUM1ACGDEC0, LSUM1FWDEC0, LSUM1NSDEC0, LSUM1WCMX20RT, and LSUM1WCMX40RT.
· Do not install any one of the following cards in slots 4 to 9 on the S10510 switch:
¡ EA cards, except the LSU1TGS8EA0.
¡ EB cards, except the LSU1TGS8EB0.
¡ SE cards LSU1GP24TXSE0, LSU1GT48SE0, LSU1GP48SE0, LSU1TGX4SE0, and LSU1GP24TSE0.
¡ OAA cards, except the LSUM1ACGDEC0, LSUM1FWDEC0, LSUM1NSDEC0, LSUM1WCMX20RT, and LSUM1WCMX40RT.
· Cards supported by the S10506 switch vary by the forwarding mode of the slots. For information about the supported cards, see device management configuration in H3C S10500 Switch Series Fundamentals Configuration Guide.
Switching fabric modules
Follow these restrictions and guidelines when you install switching fabric modules:
· Do not install A-type switching fabric modules (LSU1FAB04A0 and LSU1FAB08A0) and service modules with LSUM-prefixed model numbers on the same switch.
· Do not install switching fabric modules of different types on the same switch.
· For the S10504, S10508, S10508-V, or S10512 switch, make sure a minimum of one switching fabric module is installed in either of the two lowest numbered switching fabric module slots.
¡ Slot 6 or 7 on the S10504.
¡ Slot 10 or 11 on the S10508 or S10508-V.
¡ Slot 14 or 15 on the S10512.
As a best practice, use the two lowest numbered switching fabric module slots for installation first.
· The console port of the switching fabric module for the S10500 is used for H3C Support to maintain the switches. Do not use the console port if you have not been trained for that.

The S10504 and S10506 support a maximum of four power modules. The S10508, S10508-V, S10510, and S10512 support a maximum of six power modules. Make sure the total maximum output power of the ordered power modules is greater than the system power consumption. As a best practice, reserve 20% of the maximum output power.

NOTE: When the temperature of a power module exceeds the acceptable temperature range, the power module is automatically powered off. When the temperature returns to the acceptable temperature range, the power module is automatically powered on. |
