Interface numbering
Conventions
The interfaces (except the management Ethernet interface) on the router are numbered in the interface-type X/Y/Z format. The management Ethernet interface number is M-GigabitEthernet 0/0/0.
· interface-type—Type of the interface such as GigabitEthernet and Ten-GigabitEthernet.
· X—Number of the slot where the module resides on the router, as shown in Table4-1.
· Y—Subslot number, which is fixed at 0.
· Z—Number of the interface on the module, starting from 0.
Examples
An HMIC-XP4 interface module is installed in slot 6 of the router. Fixed SFP+ fiber ports on the interface module are numbered Ten-GigabitEthernet 6/0/0 through Ten-GigabitEthernet 6/0/3, respectively.
An RFU-560-G is installed in slot 0 of the router. The fixed SFP+ fiber port on the RFU-560-G is numbered Ten-GigabitEthernet 0/0/0.
