Data filtering FAQ
Q. Why is it that the search results from Baidu cannot be filtered?
Baidu uses TLS to encrypt packets, which can be verified by packet capturing. To perform data filtering on these packets, you must first enable SSL offloading.
Q. Why is it that after the data filtering policies or keyword groups are edited, the device cannot filter keywords based on the newly edited settings?
For the new data filtering policy settings or keyword group settings to take effect, you must click Submit from the Web interface or execute the inspect activate command at the CLI.
Q. Why can a webpage be accessed normally even though I have configured the device to block access to the webpage by using action drop logging as instructed?
This issue is caused by the browser cache. For data filtering to operate correctly, clear the browser cache.
Q. How are multiple patterns in a keyword group used to match packets?
A packet matches a keyword group if it matches any keyword match pattern in the group.
Q. Why can't I block Chinese content uploaded by forums?
Some forums and Sina Weibo use URL encoding to upload Chinese characters, while data filtering does not support URL encoding.
Q. Why cannot a regular expression containing Chinese characters take effect?
Chinese characters do not support regular expression patterns. When Chinese characters are included in a regular expression, data filtering takes effect only on the encoding format used for uploading that regular expression. Therefore, a regular expression with Chinese characters might not take effect.
