1 About the FAN-H-4UG5 fan module
IMPORTANT: · The information in this document might differ from your product if it contains custom configuration options or features. · The figures in this document are for illustration only. · The model name of a hardware option in this document might differ slightly from its model name label. A model name label might add a prefix or suffix to the hardware-coded model name. For example, the FAN-H-4UG5 fan module model represents fan module labels including UN-FAN-H-4UG5-M. |
The FAN-H-4UG5 fan module has two rotors, one that has five vanes at the air inlet, and the other that has three vanes at the air outlet. When the fan is operating correctly, the two rotors are reversed in direction to form counter-rotation for sufficient wind pressure. The FAN-H-4UG5 fan module is hot swappable, and provides fast heat dissipation and high speed.

2 Key features
Automatic speed adjustment
The fan uses pulse width modulation (PWM) to adjust fan speed quickly, accurately, and stably as instructed by the system. If the temperature of the ambient environment or an internal component is high, the fan speed increases to enable fast heat dissipation. If the temperature of the ambient environment or an internal component is low, the fan speed decreases to save energy.
Hot swapping
The fan module is hot swappable, improving system maintainability.
Locked rotor protection
This feature protects the fan from being damaged for up to 96 hours if a rotor of the fan operating under normal voltage stops rotating because of a foreign object.
Polarity protection
If the polarity of the input voltage does not match the polarity of the fan, the fan cannot operate correctly but will not be damaged.
