5 Appendix B LEDs

The RA5100 and RA5100-HI routers have the same LEDs. This section describes the RA5100-HI router LEDs.

Description

 System status LED (SYS)

Flashing green at 8 Hz

·     BIOS stage—BIOS is starting up.

·     BootWare stage—The system software image is being decompressed.

Flashing yellow at 1 Hz

·     BIOS stage—The memory does not exist or system initialization has failed.

·     BootWare stage—The SDRAM has failed the POST.

Flashing yellow at 8 Hz

The extended segment does not exist (BIOS stage).

Steady green

·     BootWare stage—The SDRAM is being tested.

·     Comware stage—The kernel is starting up.

Flashing green at 1 Hz

The Comware system is starting up or is operating correctly (Comware stage).

Steady yellow

The boot.bin file does not exist (BootWare stage).

Off

A system hardware failure has occurred.

 Running status LED (RUN)

Flashing green at 1 Hz

BIOS has started up and BootWare is starting up.

Flashing red at 1 Hz

BIOS is starting up.

Steady green

The Comware system is starting up or is operating correctly.

Off

No power is present.

 Clock synchronization LED (SYNC)

Steady green

·     The system clock is in free-run mode and no clock source is specified for the system clock.

·     The system clock is in traced mode and is tracing a clock source in the clock source priority list.

·     The system clock is in locked mode, and the PTP clock is tracing a clock source.

Steady yellow

·     The system has lost all its clock sources except the internal clock source. The system clock is in holdover mode or free-run mode.

·     The system clock is in locked mode but no clock source is available. The PTP clock is in holdover mode or free-run mode.

Off

No power is present, or the system clock is not synchronized during system startup.

 High severity alarm LED (ALARM H)

Steady red

A high severity alarm has occurred on the device.

Off

No high severity alarm has occurred on the device.

 Low severity alarm LED (ALARM L)

Steady yellow

A low severity alarm has occurred on the device.

Off

No low severity alarm has occurred on the device.

 10GE fiber port LED

Steady green

A 10GE link is present on the port.

Flashing green

The port is sending or receiving data at 10 Gbps.

Steady yellow

A GE link is present on the port.

Flashing yellow

The port is sending or receiving data at 1 Gbps.

Off

No link is present on the port.

 GE fiber port LED

Steady green

A GE link is present on the port.

Flashing green

The port is sending or receiving data at 1 Gbps.

Steady yellow

An FE link is present on the port.

Flashing yellow

The port is sending or receiving data at 100 Mbps.

Off

No link is present on the port.

 GE copper port LED

Steady green

A GE link is present on the port.

Flashing green

The port is sending or receiving data at 1 Gbps.

Steady yellow

A FE link is present on the port.

Flashing yellow

The port is sending or receiving data at 100 Mbps.

Off

No link is present on the port.

 Management Ethernet port LED

Steady green

A GE link is present on the port.

Flashing green

The port is sending or receiving data at 1 Gbps.

An FE link is present on the port.

Flashing yellow

The port is sending or receiving data at 100 Mbps.

Steady green

The power supply is operating correctly.
