modem auto-answer

Syntax

undo modem auto-answer

View

User interface view

Default level

2: System level

Parameters

None

Description

Use modem auto-answer to configure a modem to operate in auto-answer mode.

Use undo modem auto-answer to configure a modem to operate in non-auto-answer mode. In this mode, the modem answers a call only when it receives the corresponding AT command sent by the switch.

By default, a modem operates in non-auto answer mode.

When the modem operates in auto-answer mode (the AA LED of the modem lights up), specify the modem auto-answer command to prevent the switch from issuing answer instructions. If the modem is in non-auto answer mode, use the undo modem auto-answer command to enable the switch to issue answer instructions upon the arrival of incoming calls.

NOTE:

·     This command applies only to AUX ports.

·     Make sure you set the same answer mode as on the modem. If a different answer mode is set, the modem might operate incorrectly.

Examples

# Configure the modem connected to port AUX 0 to operate in auto-answer mode.

[Sysname] user-interface aux 0

[Sysname-ui-aux0] modem auto-answer

service modem-callback

Syntax

service modem-callback

undo service modem-callback

View

System view

Default level

3: Manage level

Parameters

None

Description

Use service modem-callback to enable the callback function.

Use undo service modem-callback to disable the callback function.

By default, the callback function is disabled.

The service modem-callback command enables the modem to initiate a callback upon activation of the line when the modem detects the carrier or data is being received. Because the callback occurs before the PPP process starts and accounting is performed, costs are saved.

Examples

# Enable the callback function.

<Sysname> system-view

[Sysname] service modem-callback
