H3C iMC License Matrixes
Some of the features for H3C iMC are license-based. To use these features, you must install licenses for them. This document provides information about the license-based features and licenses available for them. For information about registering, installing, or managing a license, see H3C Intelligent Management Center Licensing Guide.

IMPORTANT: License-based features and attributes of licenses might change with software version over time. This document contains information about only licenses for software versions shipped and some of the information might change over time. To obtain the most up-to-date information about licenses or information about licenses for software versions not listed in this document, contact your H3C sales representative or contact H3C Support. |

IMPORTANT: · iMC licenses support local licensing and remote licensing. Remote licensing is implemented through iLP. · As a best practice, use local licensing when you request a license for the PLAT professional edition (replacement for intelligent management platform standard edition). · The UBA component calculates the number of used UBA licenses based on the number of user source IP addresses. License overuse might cause a loss of audit data. As a best practice to avoid this risk, plan the use of the UBA component appropriately. · The DR1000 component can be deployed separately, and does not need to request licenses for the other components. To license any other application-driven component, you must first request licenses for DR2000. Table 4 shows the licenses for the application-driven components. · To license an iMC service component, you must first request licenses for the iMC Intelligent Management Platform. Table 2 shows the licenses for the iMC platform and Table 3 shows the licenses for iMC service components. · When the iMC platform and its service components use the hierarchal licensing function, the upper-level NMS must use the H3C iMC Intelligent Management Platform Professional Edition license or the H3C iMC Intelligent Management Platform Professional Edition (Replacement for Intelligent Management Platform Standard Edition) license. If the upper-level NMS has been registered with the standard edition license, perform one of the following tasks: ¡ First uninstall the standard edition license, and then register the H3C iMC Intelligent Management Platform Professional Edition license. ¡ Upgrade the standard edition license to the H3C iMC Intelligent Management Platform Professional Edition (Replacement for Intelligent Management Platform Standard Edition) license. · To request the quantity licenses and feature licenses for a component, you must first request the basic licenses for the component. · You can mix the H3C iMC Intelligent Management Platform Standard Edition licenses and the H3C iMC Intelligent Management Platform Professional Edition Licenses. For more information about license dependencies, see Table 2. When you mix the licenses, the effective licenses and supported licensed nodes are as follows: ¡ The basic license for PLAT professional edition has higher priority than the basic license for PLAT standard edition. If both the basic license for PLAT professional edition and the basic license for PLAT professional edition (replacement for intelligent management platform standard edition) exist, the former license takes effect. The maximum number of nodes that can be licensed is the sum of the following values: the capacity of the quantity license for the PLAT professional edition + the smaller value from the capacity of the quantity license for the PLAT professional edition (replacement for intelligent management platform standard edition) and the capacity of the quantity license for the PLAT standard edition. If a type of license does not exist, the capacity of the license is 0. ¡ If only the basic license for the PLAT standard edition is installed, the license takes effect. The quantity license for the PLAT professional edition is downgraded as a quantity license for the PLAT standard edition. ¡ For the same type of licenses, the validity period for trial licenses is the shortest validity period among all effective trial licenses. · This system supports preinstalled licenses, trial licenses, and formal licenses. For more information, see Table 1. |

When you purchase a formal license, identify whether the license has a validity period. The start time of formal license validity period (if any) is the date and time when the activation file for the license is generated on the license management platform. If the formal license has a validity period, to ensure service continuity, you must purchase and install a new formal license before the formal license expires. |

A trial license cannot be uninstalled or transferred. |
A trial license is time limited. The start time of license validity period is the date and time when the activation file for the license is generated on the license management platform. When a trial license expires, the license-based feature becomes unavailable. To continue to use the feature, you must purchase and install a formal license for it. |

Preinstalled license |

A preinstalled license cannot be uninstalled or transferred. |
A preinstalled license is time limited. When the product software starts to run, the validity period of the preinstalled license-based feature starts to count down. To try a preinstalled license-based feature, please pay attention to the validity period. When the preinstalled license expires, the preinstalled license-based feature becomes unavailable. To formally use the license-based feature, purchase and install a formal license. |
