Report Center

Perform this task to manage report templates, report tasks, and generated report files. Report templates define the types of statistics (such as event or log), the statistical results, and their presentation format. After you specify a report template for a report task, the task generates corresponding report files that can be viewed on the Report Files page.

Manage report files

Perform this task to view information about report files generated by report tasks, including file name, task name, and task type. You can also filter, download, and delete reports as needed.

View report files

Perform this task to view the generated report files. You can filter report files by using filter criteria such as task name and template name.

Procedure

1.     Select Report Center > Report Files.

2.     Filter report files: You can filter report files by report file name, task name, report template, and generation time. The first three filter criteria support fuzzy matching.

3.     Reset: Click Reset to clear all filter criteria and refresh the file list.

Preview a report file

Perform this task to preview a generated report file.

Procedure

1.     Select Report Center > Report Files.

2.     Click Preview in the Actions column for a report file. A previewed file is no longer marked as unread.

Download report files

Perform this task to download report files.

Procedure

1.     Select Report Center > Report Files.

2.     To download a single report file, click Download in the Actions column for that file.

3.     To download multiple report files, select the files, and then click Download. The system downloads the files in a compressed .zip file.

Delete report files

Perform this task to delete report files.

Procedure

1.     Select Report Center > Report Files.

2.     To delete a single report file and refresh the report file list, click Delete in the Actions column for that file.

3.     To delete multiple report files in bulk and refresh the report file list, select the files, and then click Delete.

Manage report tasks

Perform this task to manage report tasks. A report task generates report files for specific statistics based on the specified report template.

Report tasks include the following types:

·     Scheduled tasks: Tasks executed by the system daily, weekly, or monthly. Daily and weekly tasks are executed at the specified time and the system starts to execute monthly tasks at 01:00 the next month after creation.

·     Immediate tasks: Tasks executed immediately upon creation.

View report tasks

Procedure

1.     Select Report Center > Report Files. Click Tasks above the report file list.

2.     You can filter report tasks by task type, task state, and task name. The task name filter criteria supports fuzzy matching.

3.     To clear all filters and refresh the task list, click Reset.

Parameters

·     Task Name: Name of a report task.

·     Task Type: Type of the report task.

·     Template Name: Name of the template associated with the report task.

·     Last Executed: Last time when the report task was executed.

·     Task State: State of the report task.

·     Creator: User account that created the task.

·     Created At: Time when the report task was created.

Add a report task

Perform this task to add a report task.

Procedure

1.     Select Report Center > Report Files.

2.     Click Add. Select a report template, and then configure related parameters.

3.     Click OK.

Parameters

·     Basic Info

○          Task Name: Specify a unique identifier for the report task.

○          Task Type: Specify the execution interval. Options include daily, weekly, monthly, and immediate execution. Required parameters vary by execution interval.

§     For a daily task, specify the task execution time. For example, if you set the execution time to 20:30:00, the system executes the task at 20:30:00 every day and generates reports for daily statistics based on the report template.

§     For a weekly task, specify the task execution time and day of a week. For example, if you set the execution time to 20:30:00 on Monday, the system executes the task at 20:30:00 every Monday, and generates reports for weekly statistics based on the report template.

§     For a monthly task, you do not need to specify the execution time. The system executes the task at 01:00:00 on the first day of every month, and generates reports for monthly statistics based on the report template..

§     For an immediately executed task, specify the statistics type and specify a time range. Upon creation, the system executes the task immediately and generates a report for statistics in the collection period based on the report template.

○          Report Format: Specify the report file format. Options include DOCX, PDF, and HTML.

○          Report Retention Period: Specify the report storage time, during which users can download the report from the platform.

·     Report Template

○          Report Template: Select a report template, based on which the system generates reports.

·     Report Notification

○          Email: Configure the system to notify the person in charge of report creation.

Restrictions and guidelines

If an email account has been added as a recipient in a report task, the platform will continue sending emails to that account after the account is deleted. To configure the system to stop sending emails to that account, remove the account from the report task.

Edit a report task

Perform this task to edit the parameters of a report task. This task is available only for periodic report tasks.

Procedure

1.     Select Report Center > Report Files. Click Tasks above the report file list.

2.     Click Edit in the Actions column for a report task. In the window that opens, edit the parameters as required. For information about the parameters, see Add a user-defined report template.

3.     Click OK.

Delete report tasks

Procedure

1.     Select Report Center > Report Files. Click Tasks above the report file list.

2.     To delete a single report task and refresh the report task list, click Delete in the Actions column for that task.

3.     To bulk delete report tasks and refresh the report task list, select the report tasks, and then click Delete above the list.

Enable report tasks

Perform this task to enable periodic report tasks. Only enabled report tasks can be executed and generate reports.

Procedure

1.     Select Report Center > Report Files. Click Tasks above the report file list.

2.     Select periodic report tasks in disabled state as required, and then click On.

Disable report tasks

Perform this task to disable periodic report tasks. Only enabled report tasks can be executed and generate reports.

Procedure

1.     Select Report Center > Report Files. Click Tasks above the report file list.

2.     Select periodic report tasks in enabled state as required, and then click Off.

Manage report templates

Perform this task to define the statistical data type (by log or event) and the display form of the statistical results, such as in pie chart or line chart.
The system supports predefined and user-defined report templates. The predefined templates are named Event statistics and Log statistics. The predefined templates can only be previewed, and cannot be edited or deleted. You can add, delete, edit, or preview a user-defined template. The user-defined report templates can be configured as needed.

View report templates

Procedure

1.     Select Report Center > Report Templates. On the page that opens, you can view report templates.

2.     You can enter a template keyword to filter report templates. Both fuzzy matching and exact matching are supported.

Preview a report template

Perform this task to preview report template contents.

Procedure

1.     Select Report Center > Report Templates.

2.     Click Preview in the Actions column for the target report template.

Restrictions and guidelines

The available report templates vary by software version.

Export reports

Perform this task to create a report export task based on a report template.

Procedure

1.     Select Report Center > Report Templates.

2.     To create a report export task for a report template, click Export in the Actions column for that report template.

Add a user-defined report template

Perform this task to add a user-defined report template.

Procedure

1.     Select Report Center > Report Templates.

2.     Click Add. In the window that opens, configure the template parameters.

3.     To add a statistical data type, click Add Module on the Add Report Template page.

4.     Click OK.

Parameters

·     Template Name: Unique identifier of a report template.

·     Data Type: Type of the data used for statistics collection, including Event and Log.

·     Log Type: Type of the logs used for statistics collection. This field is available only when the data type is Log.

·     Chart Field: Statistical dimension. For example, statistics collection can be performed based on log severity distribution.

·     Chart Type: Type of the chart for displaying the statistics, including Pie Chart, Bar Chart, and Line Chart.

Edit a user-defined report template

Perform this task to edit the parameters of a user-defined report template.

Procedure

1.     Select Report Center > Report Templates.

2.     Click Edit in the Actions column for a user-defined report template. In the dialog box that opens, edit the parameters. For more information about the parameters, see Add a user-defined report template.

3.     Click OK.

Delete user-defined report templates

Perform this task to delete user-defined report templates.

Procedure

1.     Select Report Center > Report Templates.

2.     Click Delete in the Actions column for the target user-defined report template.
