Notification triggers
This notification is generated when physical state of the interface changes to up.
Possible reasons are:
The undo shutdown command is executed on the interface.
The interface or link failure is resolved.
The physical state of the interface comes up.
System impact
The interface can normally forward packets.

Recommended action
To resolve this issue:
1.Execute the display this command in interface view to identify whether the interfaces on both end are shut down. If the interfaces are shut down, execute the undo shutdown command in interface view to bring them up.
2.Identify whether the physical connection is normal (for example, whether the network cables or transceiver modules are firmly connected). If the physical connection is abnormal, correctly connect the interfaces.
3.If the issue persists, contact H3C Support.

Recommended action
To resolve this issue:
1.Verify that the optical fiber is firmly installed. Identify whether the alarm is cleared.
2.Verify that the physical link is normal.
3.Execute the display interface command to identify whether the Tx power of the transceiver module of the interface that fails is within the normal range. Identify whether the negotiation mode, clock mode, and scrambling mode (link protocol, clock, and scramble) are the same on both ends. If they are different, modify the negotiation mode configuration on both ends to make them consistent. Identify whether the alarm is cleared.
4.Identify whether the upper threshold set on the interface is too low. If the threshold is too low, execute the port ifmonitor output-error command to modify the threshold.
5.If the threshold is set reasonably, collect alarm information and configuration data, and then contact H3C Support.

Recommended action
To resolve the issue:
1.Identify whether the link (including optical fiber, transceiver module, transmission device, jumper, and so on) fails. Replace the faulty components (if any), and verify that the link is connected correctly. Identify whether the alarm is cleared.
2.Identify whether the upper threshold set on the interface is too low. If the threshold is too low, execute the port ifmonitor sdh-b1-error command to modify the threshold.
3.Collect alarm information and configuration data, and then contact H3C Support.

Recommended action
1.To resolve the issue:
- Verify that the upper threshold is set reasonably.
- If the inbound PFC frame rate exceeds the threshold, verify that the peer device is operating properly.
- If the outbound PFC frame rate exceeds the threshold, verify that the local device is operating properly.
- If both the inbound PFC frame rate and outbound PFC frame rate exceed the thresholds, verify that the local device and peer device are operating properly.
2.Identify whether the upper threshold set on the interface is too low. If the threshold is too low, execute the priority-flow-control early-warning dot1p dot1p-list outpps pps-value command to modify the threshold. If the threshold is set reasonably, collect alarm information and configuration data, and then contact H3C Support.

Notification triggers
This notification is generated when the OOF state stays continuously for 3 ms (the Rx line does not receive correct A1A2 bytes for 24 continuous frames).
Possible reasons are:
The attenuation of the Rx signals is high.
The Tx signals from the remote end do not have a frame structure.
The Rx direction of the local end fails.
System impact
Services might be interrupted. The following impacts might occur:
Impact 1: After this alarm is generated, the services are interrupted, and AIS signals are inserted to the downstream devices.
Impact 2: After this alarm is generated, the system will automatically return MS_RDI alarms to the upstream devices, and the upstream devices generate MS_RDI alarms.
Status control
This notification cannot be turned off.

To resolve this issue:
1.If a fiber port fails:
- Identify whether the fibers are connected incorrectly (for example, two ports at different speeds are connected), and correct the incorrect connections, if any. Identify whether the alarm is cleared.
- Identify whether the Rx optical power of the local end is normal on NMS.
If the Rx optical power is too low, clean the optical fiber pigtail and the Rx optical interface on the line card of the local end, identify whether the flange and optical attenuator of the local end are connected correctly, and identify whether the attenuation value of the optical attenuator is too great. Connect the flange and optical attenuator correctly, and identify whether the alarm is cleared.
If the Rx optical power is too high, add an optical attenuator. Adjust the Rx optical power to the normal range. Identify whether the alarm is cleared.
- Identify whether the Tx optical power of the remote end is normal. If the Tx optical power is normal, perform an optical fiber loopback for the line card of the local end. If the alarm is cleared on the local end, it means that the Tx signals from the remote end do not have a frame structure.
2.If a copper port fails:
- Identify whether the cable is connected incorrectly (for example, two ports at different speeds are connected), and correct the incorrect connections, if any. Identify whether the alarm is cleared.
- Verify that the frame format of the remote end is the same as that of the local end. Identify the alarm is cleared.
3.Collect alarm information and configuration data, and then contact H3C Support.

System impact
If the shutdown keyword is specified when you set the CRC error packet rate threshold on a physical interface, the interface will be shut down and stop forwarding packets when the received CRC error packets exceed the upper threshold. The interface that is shut down due to CRC errors will not restore automatically. To restore it, execute the undo shutdown command.
If the shutdown keyword is not specified, the interface will generate an alarm exceeding the upper threshold and enter the alarm status when the received CRC error packets exceed the upper threshold.
