Well aware of the key role of small cells in future network architecture deployment, H3C has actively researched into and promoted the application of its 5G cloud small cells, in a bid to realize fast, flexible, and customized 5G network construction.

H3C’s 5G cloud small cells conform to relevant standards of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) and adopt mature software and hardware platforms.

The BBU employs X86 server with Open Telecom IT Infrastructure (OTII). Based on the network function virtualization (NFV) architecture, it supports separation between centralized units (CUs) and distributed units (DUs) and deployment of containerized applications. By realizing agile business deployment, the BBU can reduce costs, increase efficiency, and meet the business requirements of multi-access edge computing (MEC).

As a digital indoor distribution solution based on optical fiber or network cable carrying wireless signal transmission, H3C’s 5G cloud small cell products are more convenient and easier to be deployed than traditional passive indoor distribution solution, have strong scalability, and can support visual operation and maintenance (O&M), helping carriers and users from vertical industries reduce the cost of network construction and simplify operation and maintenance.

Besides indoor extended wireless mobile communication systems, including indoor scenarios with large traffic, H3C’s 5G cloud small cell products can also be used in application scenarios of private networks of users from vertical industries, such as factories, industrial parks, mines, medical institutions, educational institutions, and transport operators.

Earlier in 2019, H3C and its partners undertook the joint research and development of 5G cloud small cell solution in the 4.9GHz band, successfully realizing the implementation of a smart factory with Standalone (SA) 5G cloud small cell solution which supports 4.9GHz band.

As of June 2021, H3C had actively participated in pilot projects for 5G networks in many sectors, and made major breakthroughs in manufacturing, education, transportation, health care and other industries.

Guided by its Cloud & AI Native strategy and “Digital Brain 2021”, H3C will take advantage of its core strengths and practices in cloud platform, network, security, and 5G technologies to continue exploring the carrier market. By assisting carriers in building open and flexible 5G networks and facilitating in-depth integration of 5G technologies and industrial applications, H3C will help further accelerate digital transformation in various industries.
