Noting that digital technologies are becoming new drivers of development and new factors for promoting industrial transformation and upgrading, Yu believed that the key digital technology innovation brings the traction, and industrial digitization and digital industrialization are the wings of the take-off for the development of digital economy.

H3C has ranked first in Zhejiang in the number of invention patents for ten consecutive years and ranked first among the top 100 Zhejiang innovative high-tech enterprises for eight years in a row. Regarding innovation as the foundation of its development, H3C has maintained continuous input into research and development, and constantly explored the updating and upgrading of key digital technologies related to such fields as chips, cloud computing, Big Data, the Internet of Things (IoT), and industrial Internet, empowering the application of digital technologies and the development of digital economy in an all-round manner.

China has witnessed the emergence of a batch of leading companies engaged in promoting the coordinated development of digital industrialization and industrial digitalization. To digitalize traditional industries is not only a national plan, but a necessity for industrial development.

Tony Yu, CEO of H3C, delivers a speech at the 2021 Digital Economy Innovation Development Forum.

In his speech, Yu shared his insights into industrial digitalization from aspects including the driving force, talents, key elements and difficulties.

Against the backdrop of the changes in the demographic structure, selection of the job market, the pressure from costs and China’s two-phase strategy to peak carbon emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060, industrial digitalization is the only way to promote societal development, Yu noted. However, such transformation is faced with challenges including the lack of crossover talents and obstacles hindering the safe flow of data in the industrial chain, he added. As different industries have different needs for digitization, Yu considers formulating customized and operable solutions based on different industry characteristics the key to industrial digitization.

Based on its comprehensively upgraded “Digital Brain 2021” and practical experience, H3C has offered a series of forward-looking and helpful models for the digital transformation of industries in many cities. For example:

In Hangzhou, H3C has built a smart campus enabling business intelligence, interconnection of everything, multi-dimensional integration and green and energy conservation. Based on the integrated innovation of 5G and AI, H3C has also built a benchmark Industry 4.0 smart factory, making itself a model case of smart manufacturing transformation.

In Suzhou, east China’s Jiangsu province, H3C has rolled out an industrial cloud engine, which provides integrated quality control for industrial production based on the utilization of cloud platform and AI.

In Shanghai, H3C adopts IoT to help monitor the city’s energy structure as well as carbon emission and carbon sink data, explore the application of digital technologies in supervision and regulation, and protect its ecological environment.
