H3C LSUM1WCMX20RT access controller module
1 Card identifier
The card identifier LSUM1WCMX20RT is at the upper right corner of the front panel.
2 Introduction
The LSUM1WCMX20RT high performance access controller module is developed for H3C S10500/S12500-S/S7500-X/S7600-X switches. The card provides functions including access control, wireless security, wireless user authentication, RF analysis, content filtering, and NAT. Equipped with this card, the switch can provide wired and wireless services without network topology changes.
3 Specifications
The card has one console port and one 100/1000Base-T out-band management Ethernet port.

5 Installing and removing the card
|
CAUTION: · Wear a reliably-grounded ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves before you install or remove the card. · Do not touch the components on the PCB. |
The slots on the H3C S10500/S12500-S/S7500-X/S7600-X switches are either horizontally oriented or vertically oriented. When installing the card in a horizontal slot, make sure its PCB faces up. When installing the card in a vertical slot, make sure its PCB faces left.
This section uses a vertically-oriented card to describe the installation and removal procedures.
5.1 Installing the card
1. Face the front panel of the switch. Remove the filler panel from the target slot.
2. Hold the card vertically with the PCB facing left. Pull outward the ejector levers on the card and gently push the card into the slot along the guide rails.
3. Push the ejector levers inward so that the card is in close contact with the backplane.
4. Use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten the captive screws on the card.
Figure 2 Installing the card
5.2 Removing the card
1. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the captive screws on the card until all pressure is released.
2. Pull the ejector levers at both sides of the card outward to separate the card from the backplane, and pull the card slowly out of the chassis along the guide rails.
3. Place the card on an anti-static workbench with the PCB facing up, or put it in an anti-static bag.
4. If you are not to install a new card, install a filler panel in the slot to prevent dust and ensure good ventilation in the switch.
6 Logging in to the card
The card uses an independent operating system. Before you can configure the card, you must log in to the card by using one of the following methods:
· Log in from the switch's CLI through the oap connect command.
· Log in through the card's Web interface, console port, Telnet, SSH, or SNMP.
As a best practice, log in to the card from the switch's CLI the first time you access the card. For more information about other login methods, see the configuration guides that come with the card.
To log in to the card from the switch's CLI, perform the following task in user view:

Log in to the card through OAP. |
· In standalone mode: · In IRF mode: |
To return to the CLI interface of the switch, press Ctrl+K. |
7 Software upgrade
The card uses independent BootWare and system software images. You must upgrade the card software separately from the switch software. To ensure a successful card upgrade, upgrade the card through the card's console port or management Ethernet port as a best practice. For more information about software upgrade of the card, see the release notes that come with the card.
