License Matrixes
Some of the features for the device are license-based. To use these features, you must install licenses for them. This document provides information about the license-based features and licenses available for them. For information about registering, installing, or managing a license, see H3C Comware 7 and Comware 9 WLAN Products Local Licensing Guide.

This document contains information about only licenses for software versions shipped with the devices and some of the information might change over time. To obtain the most up-to-date information about licenses or information about licenses for software versions not listed in this document, contact your H3C sales representative or contact H3C Support. |

To obtain the following product information, click Wireless Product License Compatibility Info Finder: · License compatibility: Includes maximum number of supported AP licenses, default number of supported AP licenses, number of preinstalled licenses, and license step size. · Maximum managed APs: Includes maximum number of common APs, walljack APs, and WTUs. · Compatible license codes and code description. · Compatible AP models, and number of licenses required for AP association. |

Application Signature Update Service |
If no license is installed or the installed license expires, you cannot update the application signature library. |

AV Anti-Virus Security License |
· If no license is installed, you cannot use the anti-virus feature and cannot update the anti-virus signature library. · If the installed license has expired, you can use the anti-virus feature but cannot update the anti-virus signature library. |

IPS Signature Update Service |
· If no license is installed, you cannot use the IPS service and cannot update the IPS signature library. · If the installed license has expired, you can use the IPS service but cannot update the IPS signature library. |

URL Filtering Signature Update Service |
If no license is installed or the installed license expires, you cannot update the URL signature library. |

SSL VPN for Users |
If no license is installed, the device supports up to 15 concurrent SSL VPN users by default. You can purchase and install licenses to increase the number of supported concurrent online users. |

NOTE: · Preinstalled license—Preinstalled licenses are built into a system and are available for use on initial startup of the system. Users do not need to activate them. A preinstalled license is typically time limited and cannot be uninstalled or transferred. When a preinstalled license expires, the license-based feature becomes unavailable. To continue to use the feature, you must purchase and install a formal license for it. · Trial (temporary) license—Trial licenses are provided for you to verify the functionality of premium features so you can make an educated purchase decision. A trial license is time limited and cannot be uninstalled or transferred. When a trial license expires, the license-based feature becomes unavailable. To continue to use the feature, you must purchase and install a formal license for it. · Formal license—A formal license can be installed, uninstalled, and transferred. To gain most from a license-based feature, purchase a formal license for it.
