For license-based software features, you must install licenses to use the features. This document provides information about license-based features and licenses available for them. For information about registering, installing, or managing a license, see H3C Software Products Remote Licensing Guide.

IMPORTANT:

License-based features and attributes of licenses might change with software version over time. This document contains information about only licenses for software versions shipped with the products and some of the information might change over time. To obtain the most up-to-date information about licenses or information about licenses for software versions not listed in this document, contact your H3C sales representative or contact H3C Support.

License matrixes

SeerEngine-DC

IMPORTANT:

· H3C SeerEngine-DC supports only remote licensing.

· After version upgrade, the original licenses can still be used correctly.

· By default, alerts will be generated for a trial or preinstalled license when the validity period left is 10 days, and an alert is generated every day.

· H3C SeerEngine-DC supports preinstalled licenses, trial licenses, and formal licenses.

Formal license	Permanent	Supported	A formal license can be used permanently once purchased. When the license expires (for example, during the license migration process), the licensed services are not affected, but new services cannot be onboarded.
Trial (temporary) license	30, 60, or 90 days	Not supported	A trial license is time limited. When a trial license expires, the license-based feature becomes unavailable. To continue to use the feature, you must purchase and install a formal license for it. When trial and formal licenses are mixed in use, the total number of available licenses is the sum of the two types of licenses.
Preinstalled license	· Controller: 180 days · Unified Platform: 90 days	Not supported	A preinstalled license is time limited. The validity period starts on initial startup of the software system. When a preinstalled license expires, the feature becomes unavailable. To continue to use the feature, you must purchase and install a formal license for it. All the preinstalled licenses for a component become invalid if you install a trial or formal license for the component. For example, if you install a formal quantity license for a component, the preinstalled feature license installed for the component becomes invalid. After you uninstall the formal license, the preinstalled license takes effect if it has not expired. Identify the number of nodes supported by a preinstalled license: · SeerEngine-DC preinstalled license: Unlimited. · Network management preinstalled license: 50 devices.

IMPORTANT:

· For versions earlier than E6203 (including versions E61xx and E3xxx), if a controller cannot connect to the License Server because of license obtaining failure or network error, the controller enters the fail-safe mode. In fail-safe mode, you can use all features on the controller in 30 days. If the controller obtains a license or the connection recovers within 30 days, the controller exits fail-safe mode and goes back to the normal state. If the controller cannot obtain a license or the connection fails to recover within 30 days, the SeerEngine-DC exits fail-safe mode and becomes unavailable.

· For versions E6203 and later, if a network connection error occurs between a SeerEngine-DC and the License Server, SeerEngine-DC enters the fail-safe mode right after 24 hours. In fail-safe mode, the obtained license validity period is extended for 30 days. If the connection recovers within 30 days, the SeerEngine-DC exits fail-safe mode and goes back to the normal state. If the connection fails to recover within 30 days, the SeerEngine-DC exits fail-safe mode and becomes unavailable. SeerEngine-DC does not enter fail-safe mode if it does not obtain any licenses from the license server.

H3C AD-DC Management and Control License for Virtual Switches, 1 vSwitch	3132A09U	LIS-SeerEngine-DC-VSW-VAR	E3xxx E6xxx	Optional license used for third-party vSwitches. The license applies only to hybrid overlay scenarios.

Each license for a port-fixed switch can manage a valid number of devices. The number of license seats reduces one each time a port-fixed switch is incorporated. H3C AD-DC Management License for SeerFabric, 1 Device	3132A0LC	LIS-SeerEngine-DC-SF-DEV-VAR	E6xxx	Optional license used for physical switches that are activated with the SeerFabric feature. A switch activated with the SeerFabric feature requires a license when it is incorporated. The license is only available for the SeerFabric scenario.
H3C AD-DC Management and Control License for Fixed-Port Switches, 1 Device	3132A0V6	LIS-AD-DC-PSWB-MC-VAR	E63xx and later	Required license for licensing a fixed-port physical switch and activating the network management feature. A fixed-port switch requires a license when it is incorporated.
H3C AD-DC Management and Control License for Modular Switches, 1 Device	3132A0V8	LIS-AD-DC-PSWF-MC-VAR	E63xx and later	Required license for licensing a modular physical switch and activating the network management feature. A modular switch requires a license when it is incorporated.

H3C AD-NET Management License for Basic Network Management, 1 Device	3132A0KN	LIS-ADNET-FCAPS-1	E0706 and later (Unified Platform)	Optional license used for activating the network management feature. You can manage the license on the license information page of Unified Platform. In the multi-scenario convergence deployment, a device requires a license when it is incorporated. If the license of the controller already contains the network management license, you do not need to purchase this license again.
H3C AD-DC Management License for Programmable Platform Function, 10 Service Packages	3132A18M	LIS-AD-DC-RUNBOOK-10-VAR	E65xx and later	Optional license for licensing Runbook service process packages of the northbound open service. Each license supports creating 10 Runbook service process packages.
H3C AD-DC Management License for Value-Added Service Security Simulation, 1 Device	3132A18N	LIS-AD-DC-VA-SEC-VAR	E65xx and later	Optional license for licensing simulation security devices. Each simulation security device requires a valid license seat. The number of license seats reduces one each time a simulation security device is incorporated. The license seats are not displayed on the license information page of Unified Platform, but are reduced directly on the license server that distributes licenses to simulation devices.
H3C AD-DC Management License for Network Relocation,1 Device	3132A1DM	LIS-AD-DC-NET-RELOCATION-VAR	E66xx and later	Optional license for licensing devices for network relocation. In a network relocation service, each device in the fabric of the either the old or new network requires a license.
H3C AD-DC Management License for SeerFabric Endpoint-Side Management and Analytics Function，1 Server	3132A1FF	LIS-AD-DC-SF-SERVER-VAR	E65xx and later	Optional license for licensing devices that require the endpoint-side management function. In an endpoint-side management service, each device occupies a license.

SeerEngine-Campus

IMPORTANT:

· H3C SeerEngine-Campus supports only remote licensing.

· By default, alerts will be generated for a trial or preinstalled license when the validity period left is 10 days, and an alert is generated every day.

· H3C SeerEngine-Campus supports preinstalled licenses, trial licenses, and formal licenses.

Identify the number of nodes supported by a preinstalled license: · SeerEngine-Campus preinstalled license: Allows 1 controller node to manage 50 physical NEs. · Network management preinstalled license: Manages 50 devices.

IMPORTANT:

· For versions E31xx, E32xx, and versions earlier than E3308, if a SeerEngine-Campus cannot connect to the License Server because of license obtaining failure or network error, the SeerEngine-Campus enters the fail-safe mode. In fail-safe mode, you can use all features on the SeerEngine-Campus in 30 days. If the SeerEngine-Campus obtains a license or the connection recovers within 30 days, the SeerEngine-Campus goes back to the normal state. If the SeerEngine-Campus cannot obtain a license or the connection fails to recover within 30 days, the SeerEngine-Campus exits fail-safe mode and becomes unavailable.

· For E3308 and later and E61xx and later versions, if a network connection error occurs between a SeerEngine-Campus and the License Server, the SeerEngine-Campus enters the fail-safe mode right after 24 hours. For E61xx controllers, select either the H3C AD-Campus Controller Software License or H3C SeerEngine Campus Additional 1 Server Node License (BOM: 3130A3T7). As a best practice, use this license for the E61xx controllers as a preferred selection because a cluster requires only one H3C AD-Campus Controller Software License.
Physical NE	H3C AD-Campus Service Automation License, 1 Device	3132A0NB	LIS-AD-Campus-VNA-1	E61xx and later	Optional license. If the connection is restored within 30 days, iWSM/iNSM/iWO will exit fail-safe mode and enter normal state.
If the connection is not restored after 30 days, the iWSM/iNSM/iWO component will exit fail-safe mode and enter unavailable state.

· If a preinstalled license exists after the component enters fail-safe mode, the preinstalled license will be used. If no preinstalled license exists after the component enters fail-safe mode, the menus on the GUI will be displayed normally, but a prompt will appear every 5 seconds to inform that the licenses are insufficient, and the backend services will proceed normally.

IMPORTANT:

· IMC V9 components support only remote licensing.

· By default, alerts will be generated for a trial or preinstalled license when the validity period left is 10 days, and an alert is generated every day.

· IMC V9 components support preinstalled licenses, trial licenses, and formal licenses.

IMPORTANT:

· If a network connection error occurs between an IMC V9 component and the License Server, the IMC V9 component enters the fail-safe mode right after 24 hours. In fail-safe mode, the obtained license validity period is extended for 30 days. If the connection recovers within 30 days, the IMC V9 component exits fail-safe mode and goes back to the normal state. If the connection fails to recover within 30 days, the IMC V9 component exits fail-safe mode and becomes unavailable.

· When you purchase an EAD license, an EIA license is included. After software installation, you only need to register the EAD license. Upon successful registration, the system will automatically generate the EIA license, and you do not need to purchase it separately.
