CAUTION: · When the switch has power supplies in 1+1 redundancy, you can replace a power supply without powering off the switch. To avoid device damage or even bodily injury, make sure the power supply is powered off before replacing it. · Use power supplies together with fan trays that have the same airflow direction. |
The switch uses removable power supplies. Select power supplies for the switch as required.

USB port
The switch has one OHC-compliant USB2.0 port that can upload and download data at a rate up to 480 Mbps. You can use this USB port to access the file system on the flash of the switch, for example, to upload or download application and configuration files.
NOTE: USB devices from different vendors vary in compatibilities and drivers. H3C does not guarantee the correct operation of USB devices from all vendors on the switch. If a USB device fails to operate on the switch, replace it with one from another vendor. |
SFP+ port
The switch provides fixed SFP+ ports on its front panel. You can install GE SFP transceiver modules or 10GE SFP+ transceiver modules and cables in the SFP+ ports. For information about the transceiver modules and cables available for the SFP+ ports, see H3C S6520XP-EI-G Switch Series Transceiver Module Compatibility Matrix.
QSFP+ port
The switch provides fixed QSFP+ ports. Select transceiver modules and cables that are compatible with the QSFP+ ports. For information about such transceiver modules and cables, see H3C S6520XP-EI-G Switch Series Transceiver Module Compatibility Matrix.
NOTE: · As a best practice, use only H3C QSFP+ transceiver modules and cables for the QSFP+ ports. · The H3C QSFP+ transceiver modules and cables available for the QSFP+ ports are subject to change over time. For the most recent list of transceiver modules and cables, contact H3C Support or marketing staff. · For the specifications of H3C QSFP+ transceiver modules and cables, see H3C Transceiver Modules User Guide. |
QSFP28 port
The switch provides fixed QSFP28 ports. Select transceiver modules and cables that are compatible with the QSFP28 ports. For information about such transceiver modules and cables, see H3C S6520XP-EI-G Switch Series Transceiver Module Compatibility Matrix.
NOTE: · For the specifications of H3C transceiver modules and cables available for the QSFP28 ports, see H3C Transceiver Modules User Guide. · A QSFP28 port does not support one-to-four splitting. |

5 Cooling system
CAUTION: · To guarantee heat dissipation, you must install fan trays of the same model on the switch. · If a fan tray is in one of the following conditions, the other fan trays will operate at the maximum speed to ensure adequate heat dissipation of the switch: ¡ The fan tray is in absent or fault status. ¡ The fan tray has a different airflow direction than the other fan trays. ¡ The fan tray is just inserted. |
To dissipate heat timely and ensure system stability, the switch uses high-performance front-rear air aisle cooling system. Consider the site ventilation design when you plan the installation site for the switch.
