Interface numbering
Definition
The device provides multiple types of ports, including console ports, management Ethernet ports, 10G BASE-R fiber ports, and 40G BASE-R fiber ports.
When the device operates in standalone mode, the ports on the device are numbered in the interface-type X/Y/Z format.
· interface-type—Type of the interface, for example, 10G BASE-R.
· X—Slot number. Slot number of a module (SEM, interface module, or service module) on the device. For information about the slot number ranges, see Table1-1.
· Y—Subslot number, which is fixed at 0 for an SEM. The subslot number for a service module or an interface module varies by its installation slot. For example, if a service module installed in SUBSLOT 2/1 of the device, its subslot number is 1.
· Z—Number marked for the port on a module, starting from 1. The management Ethernet port is numbered M-GigabitEthernet 0/0/0.
When the device operates in IRF mode, the ports on the device are numbered in the interface-type W/X/Y/Z format.
· W—IRF member ID.
· Descriptions for other auguments are the same as those in standalone mode.
· The management Ethernet port is numbered M-GigabitEthernet 1/0/0/0.
Example
· The device operates in standalone mode, and an NSQM2QG4A0 interface module is installed in SUBSLOT 2/3 of the device. The interfaces on the interface module are numbered from FortyGigE 2/3/1 to FortyGigE 2/3/4.
· The device operates in IRF mode with IRF member ID 1, and an NSQM2QG4A0 interface module is installed in SUBSLOT 2/3 of the device. The interfaces on the interface module are numbered from FortyGigE 1/2/3/1 to FortyGigE 1/2/3/4.

The system power consumption of the device is the sum of the power consumptions of the chassis, all running modules, hard disks, and fan trays. It depends on the type and quantity of the modules installed and the power consumptions of the hard disks and fan trays. The system power consumption can be calculated as follows:
· Minimum system power consumption of the device: The sum of the minimum power consumptions of the chassis, modules, hard disks, and fan trays.
· Maximum system power consumption of the device: The sum of the maximum power consumptions of the chassis, modules, hard disks, and fan trays.
For example, the device has two NSQM6SUP04A0 SEMs, two NS-ADEEMPA0 service modules, two NSQM2QG2TG8A0 interface modules, two NS-SSD-480G-SATA-SFF hard disks, and two FAN-20F-2-A fan trays. The minimum system power consumption of the device is 36 + 2 × 12 + 2 × 156 + 2 × 4 + 2 × 1.5 + 2 × 12 = 407 W, and the maximum system power consumption of the device is 79 + 2 × 19 + 2 × 188 + 2 × 18 + 2 × 3 + 2 × 57 = 649 W.

Humidity |
· Operating: 5% RH to 95 RH, noncondensing · Storage: 5% RH to 95 RH, noncondensing |
Cooling system
The device uses front-rear airflow for heat dissipation. When you install the device, ensure that its airflow direction meets the ventilation requirement of the installation site. Plan the installation site for the device based on its airflow direction. For adequate ventilation, make sure the following requirements are met:
· The installation site has a good cooling system.
· Ensure a minimum of 100 mm (3.94 in) around the air inlet and outlet vents of the chassis.
The FAN-20F-2-A fan tray blows air from the power supply side to the port side. The fan tray handles are blue.
