1.3.3 OLT远程配置命令在融合了ONU功能的设备上的生效情况
EPON（Ethernet Passive Optical Network，以太网无源光网络）是承载封装成802.3标准以太网帧的PON（Passive Optical Network）无源光网络，是以太网技术和无源光网络技术的有机结合，基于2004年6月颁布的IEEE 802.3ah标准。
H3C S3600系列以太网PON OLT交换机是杭州华三通信技术有限公司（以下简称H3C公司）面向融合业务网络的交换机，该产品支持以太网无源光网络业务，将无源的EPON融合到有源的交换机中，支持EPON接入，提供电信级可靠性。
一个典型的EPON系统主要由OLT（Optical Line Terminal，光线路终端）、ONU（Optical Network Unit，光网络单元）和ODN（Optical Distribution Network，光分配网络）三部分组成，如图所示。

1. OLT
OLT一般放置在局端CO（Central Office，中心机房）内，是整个EPON系统的核心设备。
S3600系列以太网PON OLT交换机作为OLT设备，提供EPON系统与业务供应商的核心数据/视频/电话网络间的接口。
2. ONU
ONU用于连接用户侧的网络设备（如PC、机顶盒以及交换机等），通常放置在用户家里、楼道或者路边，主要负责用户侧上行数据（ONU发往OLT的数据包）的转发及选择性接收从OLT侧转发的下行广播数据（OLT发往ONU的数据包）。
H3C公司提供多种类型ONU：子卡型ONU、终端型ET系列ONU以及嵌入型ONU（融合了ONU功能的CLT设备）。
3. ODN
ODN由光纤和一个或多个POS（Passive Optical Splitter，无源光纤分支器）等无源光器件组成，在OLT和ONU间提供光信号传输通道。
POS可以将上行数据耦合到一根光纤上，将下行数据分发到各个ONU。
由于ONU设备数量众多、放置位置分散，因此对ONU设备的配置和管理方式决定了EPON系统的管理和维护成本。S3600系列以太网PON OLT交换机充当OLT设备时，具有强大的ONU远程管理能力。用户可通过在S3600系列以太网PON OLT交换机上进行众多功能的配置，实现了对下挂ONU的集中管理和各类相关业务的远程配置，从而大幅度降低了对ONU的管理维护成本。
S3600系列以太网PON OLT交换机具有大量的ONU远程配置命令。由于S3600系列以太网PON OLT交换机支持下挂的ONU种类众多、且各类ONU的性能有所差异，因此OLT上完成命令配置后这些命令在ONU上是否生效，还取决于ONU的类型。
