clock
Syntax
clock { master | slave }
undo clock
View
E-CPOS interface view
Default level
2: System level
Parameters
master: Sets the E-CPOS interface to use the internal clock.
slave: Sets the E-CPOS interface to use the clock from the line.
Description
Use the clock command to set the clock mode of the E-CPOS interface.
Use the undo clock command to restore the default.
By default, the clock mode of an E-CPOS interface is slave.
When an E-CPOS interface is connected to a SONET/SDH router, you need to set the clock mode of the interface to slave because the clock of a SONET/SDH network is more precise. When two E-CPOS interfaces are directly connected through an optical fiber, you can set either of them of work in slave clock mode and make sure that the two ends operate in different clock modes.
Examples
# Set the clock mode of interface E-CPOS 7/1/6 to master.

undo e3 e3-number unframed
View
E-CPOS interface view, OC-3 view
Default level
2: System level
Parameters
e3-number: E3 channel number, in the range of 1 to 3.
Description
Use the e3 unframed command to configure the specified E3 channel on the E-CPOS interface or 155 Mbps channel to work in unframed mode.
Use the undo e3 unframed command to remove the specified E3 channel working in unframed mode on the E-CPOS interface.
By default, no E3 channel is created.
|
NOTE: · The E3 channels of an E-CPOS interface can work in unframed mode (also known as the clear channel mode) or framed mode (also known as the channelized mode). Currently, the router supports only the unframed mode. · An E3 channel working in unframed mode is a 34 Mbps serial interface without timeslot bundling. |

Parameters
sdh j0-string: Specifies the regenerator section trace byte for SDH. The j0-string argument is a string of 1 to 15 characters.
sonet j0-value: Specifies the regenerator section trace byte for SONET. The j0-value argument is a hexadecimal number ranging from 0 to FF and defaults to 0x01.
Description
Use the flag j0 command to set the J0 overhead byte for SONET/SDH frames.
Use the undo flag j0 command to restore the default J0 overhead byte.
|
NOTE: · J0 is a section overhead byte used for detecting the continuity of the connection between two interfaces at the section layer. It is mainly used for interoperability of network devices in different countries/regions or devices of different vendors. · The J0 value range differs for SDH and SONET framing formats. For more information about the framing format, see the frame-format command. |

remote: Enables external loopback on the E-CPOS interface.
Description
Use the loopback command to set the loopback mode of the current E-CPOS interface.
Use the undo loopback command to disable loopback on the current E-CPOS interface.
By default, loopback is disabled.
|
NOTE: · Loopback is intended for troubleshooting purposes. Normally, do not enable loopback. · Internal loopback, also known as local loopback, is used for testing the status of the local physical interface. External loopback is used for testing the status of the cable connected to the local interface. |

multiplex mode
Syntax
multiplex mode { au-3 | au-4 }
undo multiplex mode
View
E-CPOS interface view
Default level
2: System level
Parameters
au-3: Sets the AU multiplexing mode of AUG to AU-3.
au-4: Sets the AU multiplexing mode of AUG to AU-4.
Description
Use the multiplex mode command to set the AU multiplexing mode for AUG.
Use the undo multiplex mode command to restore the default.
The default AU multiplexing mode for AUG is AU-4 in SDH mode and AU-3 in SONET mode.
On an E-CPOS interface in SDH mode, both the au-3 and au-4 keywords are available; on an E-CPOS interface in SONET mode, only the au-3 keyword is available.
For SDH, the ANSI and the ETSI provide their respective payload mapping/multiplexing solutions.
· The ANSI uses the AU-3 multiplexing scheme. The lower-order payloads are aggregated into a VC-3 higher-order path. A VC-3 plus an AU pointer forms an AU-3. Three such AU-3s are synchronously multiplexed into an AUG.
· The ETSI uses the AU-4 multiplexing scheme. The lower-order payloads are aggregated into a VC-4 higher-order path. A VC-4 plus an AU pointer forms an AU-4. This AU-4 is “multiplexed” into an AUG, that is to say, the AUG is, in fact, equivalent to an AU-4.
|
NOTE: Only subcards PIC-CLS4G4L and PIC-CHS1G4L support this command. |
Related commands: frame-format.

threshold
Syntax
threshold { sd | sf } value
undo threshold { sd | sf }
View
E-CPOS interface view
Default level
2: System level
Parameters
value: SD or SF threshold, an integer in the range of 3 to 9. It is interpreted as a negative exponent of 10e. For example, the threshold can be 10e-3.
sd: Sets the signal degrade (SD) threshold.
sf: Sets the signal fail (SF) threshold.
Description
Use the threshold command to set the SD or SF alarm threshold for the current E-CPOS interface.
Use the undo threshold command to restore the default.
By default, the SD alarm threshold is 10e-6, and the SF alarm threshold is 10e-3.
SD and SF alarms are used to indicate current line performance. They are generated when the receiving end detects a certain amount of B2 errors. The bit error rate threshold of SF is higher than that of SD. When a small amount of errors occur, SD alarms are generated; when the error rate increases to a certain level, SF alarms are generated, indicating the line performance has been degrading seriously.
When setting the thresholds, set the SD threshold lower than the SF threshold.

# Set the SD threshold to 10e-4 on interface E-CPOS 7/1/6.
