H3C Makes History as the First Company in the World to Achieve "IPv6+Ready 2.0 & SRv6 Ready" Certification!

    24-07-2023

Recently, H3C's high-end core routers and WAN controllers have successfully passed the "IPv6[1] + Ready 2.0 & SRv6[2] Ready" test conducted by China Telecommunication Technology Labs (CTTL).

This remarkable achievement positions H3C as the global pioneer in securing this prestigious certification, marking a new milestone in their continuous IPv6 technological innovation.

In the "IPv6+ Ready 2.0 & SRv6 Ready" test, several core products from H3C Application-driven Wide Area Network (AD-WAN) solution, including the CR19000, CR18000, CR16000-F, CR16000-M series routers, as well as AD-WAN controllers, successfully passed multiple tests such as SRv6 Basic Capability, G-SRv6, network slicing, in-situFlowInformation Telemetry (iFIT), BIERv6, and SFC. Based on its robust IPv6 features and advanced SDN capabilities, H3C will continue to meet and exceed IPv6+2.0 protocol requirements, thereby facilitating the seamless implementation of IPv6 applications.

End-to-end Network Slicing: H3C is dedicated to practicing and innovating user experience. Through multidimensional network slicing technologies such as FlexE, sub-interface slicing, Flex-Algo, and Slice ID, H3C provides users with multiple private network services on a single physical network. By deploying business functions such as office work and video on different network slices, user services do not interfere with each other, ensuring a comprehensive guarantee for the application experience of various business operations.

in-situFlowInformation Telemetry (iFIT): H3C has completed the commercial use of iFIT with Zhejiang Mobile, and proposed an iFIT solution based on DOH (DNS over HTTPS), which has been turned into an IETF draft. This achievement paves the way for the popularization of IPv6+ technology.

BIERv6:To tackle the issues associated with traditional multicast applications, like limited scale, slow fault convergence, and slow multicast join response, H3C has developed BIERv6 multicast technology, which adopts bit-index replication technology and allows intermediate nodes in the network to replicate and forward multicast service without having to perceive multicast flow state. This enhances the reliability, scalability, and flexibility of multicast services significantly.

SFC Practice: Based on SRv6 SFC service chaining, H3C offers flexible resource allocation capabilities for operators and public cloud service providers, enabling them to dynamically respond to tenant demands.

Deterministic Network:H3C leverages the programmability of SRv6 and the deterministic queue forwarding of RCQF to build network deterministic transmission capabilities, constructing the world's first deterministic network spanning up to 1600 kilometers. This network ensures deterministic traffic with a maximum jitter of less than 15 microseconds, achieving outstanding performance metrics that lead the international industry.

H3C has accomplished the "IPv6+Ready 2.0 & SRv6 Ready" test and is actively investing and researching in the area of IPv6+3.0. For instance, in the development of APN6 standards by the IETF, H3C is a prominent contributor, laying the foundation for highly intelligent networks in the IPv6+3.0 era. As a result, H3C now offers comprehensive IPv6+ solutions that have been widely adopted by various industries, including government, Internet, telecom, finance, education, enterprise and more.

Guided by its "Cloud & AI Native" strategy, H3C is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of emerging IPv6+ technologies through continuous research and development, ultimately empowering the construction of high-quality, next-generation networks in the future.
