Built-in capability of UIS cloud backup

The UIS hyper converged infrastructure has built-in VM backup function, supporting intra-cluster and inter-cluster backup. The backup library/directory supports local storage, shared file system, external storage, and FTP server. It can provide backup to the entire machine and a single disk, support agent-free mode, and enable both regular backup and manual backup.

1) Intra-cluster backup

For small-scale backup (VM data volume less than 1 TB and less than 3 backup VMs), you can use UIS built-in intra-cluster backup function directly without additional cost, providing logical error correction backup capability based on distributed storage with high reliability.

2) Inter-cluster backup

It protects backup files based on different failure domains. Each cluster is responsible for carrying both business and backup capacities, and the two clusters back up mutually for flexible resource allocation and improved resource utilization.

It optimizes the backup efficiency of cloud and hyper converged scenarios, achieves the maximum rate of 4GB/s for single node of VM agent-free backup, and takes only 42 minutes to complete full backup of 10 TB data. It also supports incremental backup and de-duplication compression to balance the performance and cost.
