UIS ROBO Solution

Concept of ROBO

With the development of cloud computing, network technologies, new applications, and new services, IT infrastructure gradually forms a highly centralized cloud data center architecture that is computing-intensive, IO-intensive, and scalable, and a small-scale branch-access architecture with a low latency, high bandwidth, and wide geographical distribution, forming a two-level topology structure of the center + edge site.

Introduction to UIS ROBO solution

The UIS ROBO (remote office & branch office) solution is designed to solve the problems of traditional branch construction, implementation and maintenance. The ROBO dedicated architecture with the UIS cloud platform as the center and the UIS standard or edge version as the edge site is built.

Pain points solved:

* Understaffing: The branch office has no professional O&M personnel. The staff can only conduct simple operations such as power on and power off.

* Cloud IT facilities fail to meet the continuity, high bandwidth, and low delay requirements of services. Localized IT facilities are necessary.

* The IT budget is limited. The cost performance must be considered.

* The area is widely distributed and there are many micro sites.

Architecture of UIS ROBO solution

1) Two-level topology architecture of the center + edge site

The enterprise IT architecture is divided into management organization (center) + branch office (edge site), forming a two-level topology architecture. In the management organization, the UIS cloud platform (CloudOS for UIS) is used as the core to uniformly manage the sites in the branch office.

* For branches with only computing and storage requirements, the UIS hyper-converged standard or edge version should be deployed.

* The branches with traditional virtualization platforms (such as CAS and VMware) deployed can be incorporated under the unified management of the central UIS cloud platform.

* For a branch with a large scale and a cloud service requirement, CloudOS for UIS can be deployed to realize the autonomy of edge cloud.

* All the central/branch cloud platforms can be incorporated under the unified management of the central cloud management platform (CMP).

* The center pushes service images and configurations to branches in a unified manner to realize flexible service change.

2) Hierarchical authority and flexible management

Centralized management of the center: The management is in the center to ensure unified service, unified monitoring, and unified operation and maintenance. The resources/services are local, with low access latency and high efficiency and stability to ensure service continuity.

Centralized monitoring in the center + branch autonomy: The central UIS cloud platform monitors branch sites in a unified manner. The branch sites are autonomous through the local UIS hyper-converged management platform (access to the center is not required).
