Step

Description

Prerequisites

A cloud administrator must create an AZ and assign the AZ to organizations.

For information about how to create an AZ, see infrastructure in Cloud O&M.

For information about how to add an AZ to an organization, see network planning in Cloud O&M.

For more information about adding an AZ to a sub-organization, see quotas in Cloud O&M.

Configuring a cloud disk

Create a storage type

Optional.

A storage type specifies the storage pool to place a cloud disk. After a storage type is created, you also need to Configure storage flavors to define cloud disk sizes and specify storage pools to provide cloud disks.

If you do not specify a storage type, the system randomly select a storage pool of the AZ to place the cloud disk.

Create a disk flavor

Optional.

A disk flavor defines the specifications of resources that can be used by a cloud disk. The system provides frequently used flavors. You can custom your own disk flavors as needed.

Create a disk type

Optional.

Create disk types for H3C UIS Manager, CAS, and VMware virtualized disks, including thin or thick provisioned.

If you do not create disk types, the system sets the disk type of a newly created cloud disk to thin provisioned.

Create a cloud disk and attach it to a host

Required.

After a cloud disk is created, you can attach it to a cloud host. The cloud host will use the cloud disk as a data disk.

A common user cannot create cloud disks but can apply for cloud disks. If the cloud disk application request is approved by an administrator, the system automatically creates the cloud disk for the user.
