Create a cloud disk and attach it to a cloud host

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Services.

  1. From the left navigation pane, select Compute & Storage > Disks.

  1. For a cloud administrator, click Create. For a common user, click Apply.

  1. Configure cloud disk parameters as needed.

  1. Click OK.

Owner

Select an owner.

AZ

Select an AZ.

Name

Enter a name for the cloud disk.

Storage Type

Select a storage type.

The default storage type Common is defined by the system. If you select this storage type, the system randomly place the cloud disk in a storage pool of the specified AZ.

Shared

Configure whether to allow the cloud disk to be attached to multiple cloud hosts. Only CAS supports this feature. To use this feature, you must take measures to avoid the conflicts caused by simultaneous access attempts from multiple cloud hosts, for example, you can install specific software.

This parameter is available only for administrators.

To configure a disk as a shared disk, make sure the provisioning mode of the disk is thick.

Create Method

Select a method to create the cloud disk.

  • Create Empty Disk—Creates a formatted empty cloud disk, which does not contain any data.

  • Create from Image—Creates a disk that contain data in the image.

Disk Type

Select a disk type. To set the disk type for the cloud disk, you must first create disk types. For more information about creating a disk type, see "Create a disk type." To configure a disk as a shared disk, select a disk type with the thick provisioning method.

Attach to Cloud Host

Attach the cloud disk to a selected cloud host after the cloud disk is created.
