Table-1 Configuring disk type parameters
Parameter |
Description |
Name |
Enter a name for the disk type. |
Provisioning Type |
Select a provisioning mode: · Thick—Assign a fixed amount of space to a storage volume. The system populates a thick-provisioned storage volume with data when creating it, regardless of whether service data is written to the storage volume. The capacity of a thick-provisioned storage volume does not change when you delete data from it. · Thin—Assign space to a storage volume dynamically based on the data written to it. For example, if you create a 1-TB thin-provisioned storage volume, its capacity is 300 GB when it stores only 300 GB of data. |
Encryption |
Configure disk encryption. Only CAS supports this feature. Access to encrypted disks requires a password. |
