Image management allows you to manage the following resources:
Desktop images (office scenario)—A desktop image is a file consists of an operating system, application software, user data, and configuration files. A desktop image is a VM template used to fast deploy cloud desktops. The system supports VDI, IDV, and VOI desktop images.
Image source VMs (office scenario)—A desktop image is converted from an image source VM. The operating system, drivers, and required software in the desktop image are installed on the image source VM.
Manage course images (education scenario)—A course image is a template used for creating the desktops used in classes. A course image is a VM. The system supports VDI and VOI course images.
System images—A system image is an ISO file that contains system files and boot files. You can open or run a system image by using a virtual optical drive. An image source VM is created based on a system image.
Image pools—An image pool stores desktop images. When you publish a desktop image, you must specify a storage path for it.
Shared software—Before you create an image source VM or course, you can upload required software to a shared directory on a cloud host. When you are creating the image source VM or course, you can mount the shared disk to install the software.
