Table-1 Configuring cloud host parameters

Parameter

Description

Creation Method

Select the cloud host creation method.

Normal Creation indicates that you can configure cloud host parameters as needed.

Owner

Specify the user that uses the cloud host.

AZ

Select the AZ that provides compute resources for the cloud host.

Physical Host

Specify the physical host on which the cloud host will be deployed.

Specify the type of the image to be used, Public, or Private.

Storage Type

Specify the storage type, through which you can specify the storage pool where the cloud host's storage volumes reside. For more information, see "Manage cloud host storage."

System Disk

Data Disk

Set the size of the system disk and select a data disk for the cloud host. The system disk is created during cloud host creation, and the data disk is a hard disk provided by the hard disk service.

After a cloud host is destroyed, its system disk is cleared but data in the data disk retains. To use a data disk, you can assign a hard disk to the cloud host at cloud host creation, or attach a hard disk to the cloud host after cloud host creation.

For more information about how to attach a hard disk to a cloud host, see "Attach disks to a cloud host." For more information about how to create cloud disks, see cloud disks in Compute and Storage.

Network

Specify a network for the cloud host as needed.

Security Group

Specify a security group. If you do not specify any security group, the cloud host belongs to the default security group.

Authentication Policy

Auto Generated Password

Use a system-generated password. After the cloud host has been created, you can access the detailed information page of the cloud host and click the  icon in the Basic Info area to view the generated password.

Manually Specified Password

Set the password for the cloud host.

Key

Enable key authentication. This feature is available only for Linux cloud hosts. If you enable key authentication, select a key pair from the SSH Key list.

Image Default Password

Use the default password for the image. The default password of an image is the password used to log in to the cloud host to create the image.

Tenancy

Set the tenancy for the cloud host. After the cloud host has been created, you can view the start time, end time, and action upon expiration for the cloud host on the detailed information page of the cloud host. For more information, see "View detailed information about a cloud host."
