Manage external VMs

After you add a VMware host cluster to CAS, you can view VMs in the host cluster on CAS, migrate the VMs to CAS, and back up the VMs as needed.

You can back up an external VM with full or incremental settings to CAS.

For UniCloud Usphere and external CAS, view and manage VMs from the compute resource tree on the Resources page.

View the VM list

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Local Resources, and then select an external platform.

  1. Click the VM List tab.

Migrate an external VM to CAS

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Local Resources, and then select an external platform.

  1. Click the VM List tab, click Migrate to CAS in the Actions column for the target external VM.

  1. Configure the parameters. For more information about the parameters, see "Migrate an external VM to CAS."_Ref83799290

  1. Click OK.

Back up an external VM immediately

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Local Resources, and then select an external platform.

  1. Click the VM List tab, click More in the Actions column for the target external VM, and then select Back Up Now.

  1. Configure the parameters as described in "Configure backup policies."

  1. Click OK.

Edit an external VM

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Local Resources, and then select an external platform.

  1. Click the VM List tab, click More in the Actions column for the target external VM, and then select Edit.

  1. Edit the VM parameters and configure hardware for the VM as needed.

  1. Click Apply.
