Create a key pair

Key authentication is available only for Linux cloud hosts. For more information about key authentication, see "Access Linux cloud hosts by using the SSH key."

 

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Services, and then select Cloud Hosts from the Compute menu.

  1. From the left navigation pane, select Key Pairs.

  1. Click Create.

  1. Specify the key pair name and creation method. If you use an existing public key, specify the public key information.

  1. Click OK.

  • Create New—Create a new key pair. If you select this method, the system generates a new key pair after you click the OK button. Then, click Download to download the private key.

  • Use Existing Public Key—Use an existing key pair. If you select this method, you must specify a public key and the key encryption method.
