Import an IDV desktop image

Perform this task to import an IDV desktop image according to the endpoint type.

Restrictions and guidelines

ARM hosts do not support IDV desktop images in current software version.

Procedure

1. From the left navigation pane, select Images.

2. Click the Desktop Images tab. Click Import.

3. Select desktop image type IDV, configure the parameters, and click OK.

Parameters

• Select Image Pool: Select the target storage path for the imported image. If no image pool is available, you can go to the image pool management page and create an image pool as described in "Create an image pool."

• Parent Image: Parent image of the desktop image. When the image is used to build another image, the image becomes a parent image. When you upload a child image, you must select its parent image.

• Operating System: OS type of the image file.

• Endpoint Type: Type of the endpoint used to build the image file. The image can only be bound to endpoints of the same type.

• Upload File: Typically, an image file name is xxx.base0.vmd. The file name can contain letters, digits, underscores (_), and hyphens (-), and must start with a letter. A parent image contains .base0 in its name, and a child image contains .base1 in its name.
