Based on the virtualization platform driven by the OpenStack Nova component, the cloud host service on the UIS Cloud provides full lifecycle management for cloud hosts. This service delivers computing resources in the format of cloud hosts to facilitate on-demand and flexible resource application and management in multitenant scenarios.
On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Services.
From the left navigation pane, click VDC.
You can select to configure or not to configure the cloud host resource. To configure the cloud host resource, configure the parameters as described in "Parameters," and then click Create. If you select to not configure the cloud host resource, click Cancel. To configure a cloud host resource that has been created but not configured, right-click on the cloud host resource, and then select Configure.
Area and Host:
Owner: Select an owner for the cloud host. You can select an organization administrator or common user as the cloud host owner.
AZ: Select an available zone for the cloud host resource.
Physical Host: Select a physical server for the cloud host resource.
Select Image:
Image Source: Select an image source for the cloud host OS. Options include Favorite, Public, Private, and Snapshot. You can upload and manage public and private images on the Images page. To use a snapshot image, you must first create a snapshot for a cloud host. A cloud host that uses a snapshot image has the same environment as the cloud host that provides the snapshot image.
Flavor and Storage:
CPU and Memory: Select the number of CPU cores and the amount of memory.
Storage Type: Set the storage type of the cloud host. By default, only the general type is available. The general type means that you can randomly select a storage pool in the selected AZ for the cloud host.
System Disk: Set the capacity of the system disk.
Network & Security:
Security Group: Select a security group for a cloud host to protect inter-cloud host communication. You can select the default security group or a user-defined security group. To select a user-defined security group, you must create it before creating the cloud host.
Basic Info:
Cloud Host Name: Enter a name for the cloud host resource.
Cloud Host Alias: Enter an alias for the cloud host resource.
Tenancy: Select a tenancy for the cloud host resource. Options are Permanent and Custom.
Authentication Policy: Set the authentication method used to log in to the cloud host. The following options are available:
Auto Generated Password: Use an automatically generated password to log in to the cloud host. You can obtain the password on the details page of the cloud host after the cloud host is created.
Manually Specified Password: Use the user-defined password to log in to the cloud host.
Key: This method is available in a Linux operating system. The private key in the key pair is saved and managed by the user. The UIS Cloud only saves and manages the public key.
