Create a private network resource

A private network is an IP range in a network. The IP addresses of instances in the UIS virtual environment are assigned from private networks. You must specify an IP range and mask for each private network. You can specify different IP ranges for private networks in the same network, but their CIDRs cannot overlap. Private network IP ranges in different networks can overlap.

Procedure

You can drag a private network resource only to a blank area. If the number of firewalls exceeds the upper limit, you must add resource quotas. For more information, see "Increase resource quotas."

 

1. On UIS Cloud, click Cloud Services on the top navigation bar. On the UIS-Sec portal of UIS Manager Standard Edition, click Network Services on the top navigation bar.

2. From the left navigation pane, select VDC.

3. Drag the private network resource icon  to the DC egress.

4. You can select to configure or not to configure the private network resource. To configure the private network resource, configure the parameters as described in "Parameters," and then click Create. If you select to not configure the private network resource, click Cancel. To configure a private network resource that has been created but not configured, right-click on the private network resource, and then select Configure.

Parameters

• Name: Specify a name for the private network.

• Network Egress: Select uis as the network egress.

• AZ: Select an availability zone for the network.

• Tenancy: Specify a tenancy for the network. Options include Permanent and Custom.
