Manage endpoints

You can start, shut down, edit, delete, and export endpoints, clear endpoint groups on schedule, and edit the endpoint group for endpoints.

Start and shut down endpoints

·          You can start and shut down endpoints that are in the same subnet as Space Console.

·          An IDV or VOI endpoint goes offline when it is shut down, disconnected from network, or disconnected from Space Console.

 

  1. From the navigation pane, select Endpoints > Endpoints & Groups. You are placed on the endpoint overview page. Or, click an endpoint group name under the Overview menu to open the endpoint group info page.

Restart endpoints

An IDV or VOI endpoint goes offline when it is shut down, disconnected from network, or disconnected from Space Console.

 

  1. From the navigation pane, select Endpoints > Endpoints & Groups. You are placed on the endpoint overview page. Or, click an endpoint group name under the Overview menu to open the endpoint group info page.

Edit an endpoint

  1. From the navigation pane, select Endpoints > Endpoints & Groups. You are placed on the endpoint overview page. Or, click an endpoint group name under the Overview menu to open the endpoint group info page.

  1. In the Actions column for an endpoint, click More and then select Edit.

  1. Edit the parameters, and then click OK.

Delete endpoints

Before deleting IDV and VOI endpoints, make sure they have not been bound to desktop pools.

 

  1. From the navigation pane, select Endpoints > Endpoints & Groups. You are placed on the endpoint overview page. Or, click an endpoint group name under the Overview menu to open the endpoint group info page.

Enable or disable an endpoint to report monitoring information

·          To view summary and performance monitoring information for an endpoint on the endpoint details page, you must first enable the endpoint to report monitoring information.

·          In a stateful failover system, navigate to System > Failover System Management > Configuration Check to select shared storage before you enable an endpoint to report monitoring information.

 

  1. From the navigation pane, select Endpoints > Endpoints & Groups. You are placed on the endpoint overview page. Or, click an endpoint group name under the Overview menu to open the endpoint group info page.

Clear endpoint monitoring information

Perform this task to clear the current monitoring information for the specified endpoints. If monitoring info reporting is enabled for an endpoint, the system will display the endpoint's monitoring information on the endpoint details page again after it collects the monitoring data.

To clear endpoint monitoring information:

  1. From the navigation pane, select Endpoints > Endpoints & Groups. You are placed on the endpoint overview page. Or, click an endpoint group name under the Overview menu to open the endpoint group info page.

Edit alias

Perform this task to edit the aliases of endpoints displayed in Space Console. The aliases will be automatically generated according to the specified alias prefix and start number. The aliases are only displayed in Space Console and do not affect other functions.

To edit endpoint display names:

  1. From the navigation pane, select Endpoints > Endpoints & Groups. You are placed on the endpoint overview page. Alternatively, click an endpoint group name under the Overview menu to open the endpoint group info page.

  1. Select the endpoints for which you want to edit the alias, click More and then select Edit Alias.

  1. Edit the parameters, and then click OK.

Export endpoints

  1. From the navigation pane, select Endpoints > Endpoints & Groups. You are placed on the endpoint overview page. Or, click an endpoint group name under the Overview menu to open the endpoint group info page.

  1. Click More and then select Export Endpoints.

Clear endpoints on schedule

Perform this task to automatically clear the endpoints that do not have any cloud desktops assigned when the retention period expires.

  1. From the navigation pane, select Endpoints > Endpoints & Groups.

  1. Click More and then select Clear on Schedule.

  1. Set the retention period. To disable scheduled clearing, set the retention period to 0 days.

  1. In the dialog box that opens, click OK.

Edit the endpoint group for endpoints

 

If an endpoint is moved between endpoint groups for the Workspace client and the Learningspace client, delete the endpoint from its original endpoint group, and then reassign the endpoint to the target endpoint group.

 

  1. From the navigation pane, select Endpoints > Endpoints & Groups. You are placed on the endpoint overview page. Or, click an endpoint group name under the Overview menu to open the endpoint group info page.

  1. Select one or multiple endpoints from the endpoint list, click More, and then select Edit Endpoint Group.

  1. Select the endpoint group to which you want to add the endpoints, and then click OK.

Collect logs

This feature is available only for VDI endpoints.

  1. From the navigation pane, select Endpoints > Endpoints & Groups. You are placed on the endpoint overview page. Or, click an endpoint group name under the Overview menu to open the endpoint group info page.

  1. Collect logs for endpoints in bulk or for a specific endpoint. You can view the collected logs on the "Endpoint logs" page.

Add endpoints to the denylist

Endpoints in the denylist cannot use cloud desktops.

  1. From the navigation pane, select Endpoints > Endpoints & Groups. You are placed on the endpoint overview page. Or, click an endpoint group name under the Overview menu to open the endpoint group info page.

  1. Select one or multiple endpoints from the endpoint list, click More, and then select Add to Denylist.

  1. Click OK.
