Create a VM

Perform this task to create a VM on a host or in a cluster. When you create a VM in a cluster, the system creates the VM on the host with the least VMs and the lowest memory and CPU usage ratios. To use a VM, you must install an operating system for it.

Procedure

  1. Add a VM:

    1. On the top navigation bar, click Compute.

    2. From the left navigation pane, select Resource Navigation > All > Resources > Host Pool Name > Cluster Name, Resource Navigation > All > Resources > Host Pool Name > Cluster Name > Host Name, or Resource Navigation > All > Resources > Host Pool Name > Host Name.

    3. Click Add VM.

    4. Follow the configuration wizard to configure the VM parameters.

  2. Install an OS for the VM:

    1. From the left navigation pane, select the VM.

    2. Click the Console tab.

    3. Click Java Console or Webpage Console.

    4. Click Virtual Drive to load a local image file.
