Manage backup pools

A backup pool manages VM backup files. A shared storage pool or remote server provides the path for saving VM backup files for unified management of the backup files.

Restrictions and guidelines

To ensure a successful backup, you must re-configure the username and password for logging in to the remote server if you have configured a remote server and changed the root SSH permission on CVM.

Add a backup pool

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Security.

  2. From the left navigation pane, select Data Security > Backup Center > VM Backup.

  3. Click the Backup Pools tab.

  4. Click Add.

  5. Configure the parameters as described in "Parameters."

Edit a backup pool

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Security.

  2. From the left navigation pane, select Data Security > Backup Center > VM Backup.

  3. Click the Backup Pools tab.

  4. Click Edit in the Actions column for a backup pool.

  5. Click OK.

Delete a backup pool

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Security.

  2. From the left navigation pane, select Data Security > Backup Center > VM Backup.

  3. Click the Backup Pools tab.

  4. Click Delete in the Actions column for a backup pool.

  5. In the dialog box that opens, click OK.
