Perform this task to delete hosts. If you delete a host, the host and its VMs will be removed from UIS Manager, but the host and VMs can still operate correctly. After you delete a host, VMs that are moved to the recycle bin from the host will be deleted completely. Deleting a host will trigger data balancing. Data on the deleted host will be migrated to other hosts. After you delete a host, the host will be removed from both the compute and storage clusters. If the number of monitor nodes does not meet the requirements after you delete a host, the system will automatically assign the monitor node role to a non-monitor node.
This operation cannot be revoked. Follow these restrictions and guidelines when you delete a host:
Before deleting a host, make sure the host will not be used any more or the host is faulty and cannot be restored.
Before deleting a host, disable cluster HA, suspend and then delete the shared storage pool, and remove the mapping between the host and the shared storage pool.
Before you add a host that is deleted from a cluster to the cluster again, reinstall UIS Manager for the host.
If the system fails to delete a host because of connection errors, reconnect the system to the host and try again.
On the top navigation bar, click Hosts. If the system has multiple clusters, select a cluster from the left navigation pane, and then click the Hosts tab.
Select a host, click More on the host tile, and then select Delete Host, or enter the host overview page, click More Actions, and then select Delete Host.
