Add an application monitoring task

Restrictions and guidelines

• To monitor the services running on a VM, you must install CAStools on the VM.

• If you disable HA for a cluster, all application monitoring tasks for the cluster are stopped. If you disable HA for a VM or move a VM to the recycle bin, all application monitoring tasks for the VM are stopped.

Procedure

1. From the left navigation pane, select Data Center > Virtualization > Cluster name.

2. Click the Application HA tab.

3. Click Add Monitoring Task.

4. Configure the parameters, and then click OK.

Parameters

• Task Name: Name of the monitoring task.

• VM: Select a VM.

• Monitoring Policy: Name of the monitoring policy that the task uses.

• Take Effect Now: Configure whether to enable the task immediately after creation.
