Add shared storage

Restrictions and guidelines

Before you add shared storage based on a shared file system, make sure the target iSCSI SAN or FC SAN storage is readable, writable, and reachable to hosts. If you fail to do so, configuration might fail or the shared file system storage pool might become unavailable.

Procedure

1. From the left navigation pane, select Data Center > Virtualization > Cluster name.

2. Click the Storage tab.

3. Click Add.

4. Configure the parameters, click the icon to select the required shared file system, and then click OK.

Parameters

• Type: Type of the shared storage. Options include Shared-File System and RBD Storage.

• Alias: Alias of the selected shared file system.
