If the number of classrooms to be created exceeds 50, creating new classrooms will take a relatively long time and you must wait for the system response.
From the left navigation pane, select Classrooms.
Click Create.
Configure classroom settings, and then click OK.
Classroom Name: Specify the name of the classroom.
Desktop Type: Select desktop types from VDI and VOI/TCI.
If you select VDI, this classroom is only for VDI courses and does not have VOI/TCI configuration parameters.
If you select VOI/TCI, this classroom is only for VOI/TCI courses and does not have VDI configuration parameters.
If you select VDI and VOI/TCI, this classroom is for both VDI and VOI/TCI courses.
Seats: Specify the maximum number of VMs for students in the classroom.
User Access: Specify the users that can register with the classroom.
All—All users can access the classroom.
None—The classroom is closed. No user can access the classroom.
Selected—Only selected users can access the classroom and they must log in before accessing the classroom. To select users, click Edit.
Login Required for Entering Classroom: Configure whether teachers and students must enter a username and password to log in when entering the classroom. If you enable this parameter, you can configure whether login is required for attending classes. When the classroom is open to certain users or closed to all users, you must enable login for entering the classroom.
Login Required for Attending Class: Configure whether students must enter a username and password to attend classes.
Network Settings: Configure network settings, including dynamic IP assignment and static IP assignment settings.
Dynamic IP Assignment—Enables dynamic IP allocation from the DHCP server.
Static IP Assignment—Enables you to manually specify a start IP address and an end IP address for cloud desktops.
Start IP: Specify the start IPv4 address for cloud desktops. The start IPv4 address will be reserved for the teacher desktop.
End IP: Specify the end IPv4 address for cloud desktops.
Subnet Mask: Specify the subnet mask for the start and end IPv4 addresses.
Gateway: Specify the gateway for the start and end IPv4 addresses of cloud desktops.
DNS: Specify the DNS server for the start and end IPv4 addresses of cloud desktops.
Backup DNS: Specify the backup DNS server for the start and end IPv4 addresses of cloud desktops.
IPv6: Set the status of IPv6. To configure IPv6 parameters, you must enable IPv6.
Start IPv6: Specify the start IPv6 address for cloud desktops. The start IPv6 address will be reserved for the teacher desktop.
End IPv6: Specify the end IPv6 address for cloud desktops.
Subnet Prefix Length: Specify the subnet prefix length for the start and end IPv6 addresses.
IPv6 Gateway: Specify the gateway for the start and end IPv6 addresses of cloud desktops.
IPv6 DNS: Specify the DNS server for the start and end IPv6 addresses of cloud desktops.
IPv6 Backup DNS: Specify the backup DNS server for the start and end IPv6 addresses of cloud desktops.
VLAN ID: Specify the VLAN ID for cloud desktops.
Allowlist: Specify the list of network addresses allowed to be accessed. For network access control purposes, VMs can access only the IP addresses in the allowlist. To ensure communication between VMs and student endpoints and between VMs and the DHCP server, add the network address of the student endpoints and the VMs to the allowlist. The format is IP address/mask length, for example, 192.168.1.0/24. Use commas (,) to separate multiple networks addresses.
Teacher Desktop: Enable the teacher desktop to create a cloud desktop for the teacher when the teacher is attending class in the classroom.
Automatic Classroom Dismissal: Specify whether to enable automatic classroom dismissal. The class is dismissed at the classroom dismissal intervals. This parameter does not take effect on a merged classroom and each of the related classrooms.
Classroom Dismissal Interval: Specify the interval at which the classroom is dismissed.
Automatic Self-Study Desktop Cleanup: Specify whether to enable automatic self-study desktop cleanup. After you enable this parameter, you must also specify the time when the desktops will be cleaned. The system automatically cleans the student desktops generated during self-study at the specified time every day.
Automatic Exam Desktop Cleanup: Specify whether to enable automatic exam desktop cleanup. After you enable this parameter, you must also specify the time when the desktops will be cleaned. After an exam course is finished, the system automatically clears the data of the course after the specified number of days.
Offline Graceful Period: Set the amount of time that a user can continue to use a VOI/TCI endpoint after the VOI/TCI client goes offline because of network disconnection or disconnection from Space Console.
Endpoint Type: Specify the VOI/TCI endpoint model.
Dedicated: Applies to the scenario where the endpoints are the same model. You need to specify an endpoint model defined in flavor settings of Space Console. For a classroom with dedicated endpoints, the default course can only be a course of the dedicated type (upon creation) with the same model as the endpoints.
General: Applies to the scenario where the endpoints are different models or have different specifications. For a classroom with general endpoints, the default course can only be a course of the general type (upon creation).
Architecture Format: Select an endpoint architecture, including TCI and VOI.
Compatibility Mode: Set the status of compatibility mode.
Off: Compatible with the UCC2.0 endpoints for versions E1016 and later (recommended).
On: Compatible with the VOI endpoints and UCC1.0 endpoints.
Auto Restoration: Configure whether to restore the VOI/TCI course desktops on the endpoints rebooted in the classroom. If this parameter is disabled, the desktops will not be restored on class start, class dismissal or endpoint reboot, but switching endpoint images, execution of a scheduled task, and forced restoration can still trigger restoration. If this parameter is enabled, restoration will be triggered based on the restoration type and trigger.
Default Course: If compatibility mode and automatic restoration are enabled, you need to specify the default course, which is the VOI/TCI default course bound to the classroom. If compatibility mode is disabled and automatic restoration is enabled, configure a default course as needed.
If you select a default course, endpoints will enter the default course after a reboot when no class is in progress.
If you do not select a default course, endpoints will enter the image selection page after a reboot when no class is in progress.
Fixed Course: If compatibility mode is enabled and automatic restoration is disabled, you need to specify a fixed course, which is the VOI/TCI fixed course bound to the classroom. If compatibility mode and automatic restoration are disabled, configure a fixed course as needed.
If you select a fixed course, the image cannot be switched on endpoints.
If you disable the fixed course parameter, endpoints will enter the image selection page after startup.
Restoration Type: Select a restoration type.
Full Restoration: Both the system and data disks of the course desktop will be restored to a restore point or the initial status.
System Restoration: Only the system disk of the course desktop will be restored to a restore point or the initial status.
Restoration Trigger: Select a restoration trigger, including class start, class dismissal, class start and dismissal, every reboot, and every reboot after class dismissal.
Offline Policy: Configure the restoration policy when an endpoint goes offline, including no restoration and restoration after a reboot. The offline policy is only supported by UCC2.0 and later, and this parameter is available only if compatibility mode is disabled.
Teacher Endpoint Policy: Configure the restoration policy for the teacher desktop, and this policy only takes effect on the teacher client installed on a VOI/TCI endpoint.
Same as Student Endpoints: Apply the student desktop restoration policy to the teacher desktop.
Custom: Customize the restoration policy for the teacher desktop. If automatic restoration is enabled, the restoration of the teacher desktop will be triggered at every reboot. For other parameters, see "Student desktop restoration policy."
| When you are customizing the teacher-end restoration policy, an endpoint will not load the course image during class time, and the classroom restoration scheduled task will not take effect on the teacher endpoints. |
