Perform this task to set desktop-related parameters, including dynamic desktop timeout release, client heartbeat timeout duration, and client uninstall confirmation. In pure education scenarios, it is only necessary to set single sign-on, terminal management password, nested display of cloud desktops, and multi-device login.
From the left navigation pane, select System > Advanced Settings > Cloud Desktop Parameters.
Click Edit on the bottom left of the page, and configure the cloud desktop parameters.
Click Save.
Desktop Release Timeout: Set the time that the system waits before release the binding between the client and a cloud desktop. After a user connects to a dynamic cloud desktop or a cloud desktop in a manual desktop pool, the system creates the binding between the client and the cloud desktop. If the cloud desktop is idle for the specified time, the system will release the binding. The default is 0. Value 0 indicates that the system will release the binding immediately after the timer expires. Value -1 indicates that the system will not release the binding after the timer expires.
Desktop Logout Timeout: Set the logout timeout time for cloud desktops, in minutes. If the timeout is reached for a cloud desktop, the system logs out the cloud desktop. The default is 5 minutes.
Client Uninstallation Confirmation: Request a user to enter the endpoint management password to uninstall the client running on a Windows endpoint. This feature is disabled by default.
Low-Version Client Login: Configure whether to allow low version clients to log in. If you select Enabled, the system prohibits low version clients from logging in.
Prompt for Low-Version Client Login: Configure the prompt message that pops up when users log in to low version clients after you disable the Low-Version Client Login feature. The default prompt message is The client version is too low. Please upgrade the client to the latest version or contact the administrator.
Endpoint Restart Countdown: Set the status of countdown for the prompt of an endpoint restart after the client is installed or upgraded successfully. By default, countdown is disabled. If the countdown times out, the endpoint restarts automatically. This feature is available only for endpoints in office scenario.
SSO: Select whether to enable SSO. This feature exempts a user from entering the username and password after that user logs in to the operating system of a cloud desktop.
Auto Migration Timeout: Set the automatic migration timeout time for VMs, in minutes. If the migration of a running VM does not completes when this timer expires, the system will suspend the VM to speed up migration. After the migration completes, the system resumes the running status of the VM. The default is 5 minutes.
Login Password: Set the password used for logging in to a cloud desktop through endpoint authentication. Typically endpoint authentication does not require a password. If endpoint authentication fails, a user must enter a password to log in to the cloud desktop. The password is provided by an administrator.
Agent Uninstallation Password: Configure whether to customize the Agent uninstallation password. This feature is disabled by default.
Endpoint Management Password: Set the management password for endpoints. This password enables full-screen mode clients in the office scenario and student clients in the education scenario to return to the local computer and enables teaching clients in the education scenario to enter maintenance mode. As a best practice, use the administrator account to change the password. If the network between a client and Space Console is abnormal or the client is not registered to Space Console, you use the management password to return to the local computer. In versions earlier than E1007L01, the default is Workspace@1234. In E1007L01 and later versions, the default is Password@1234.
Domain Assignment Verification: Configure whether to allow a client to connect to a VM if the VM is not assigned to a domain or the VM fails to join a domain. This feature is disabled by default.
Monitoring Port for VDP Service: Specify a port to monitor virtual applications and shared desktop services. The default port number is 3389.
LDAP Authentication Fail-Open: With this feature enabled, only the username will be verified for domain users or LDAP users logging in to the client if the AD domain controller or LDAP authentication server is unreachable. A user can use this feature only if the use has successfully logged in to the client. This feature is supported only by static desktop pools.
Enhanced LDAP Authentication Fail-Open: With this feature enabled, only the username and cached password will be verified for domain users or LDAP users logging in to the client if the AD domain controller or LDAP authentication server is unreachable. A user can use this feature only if the use has successfully logged in to the client. A user must use the new password to log in to the client again after modifying the password. This feature is supported only by static desktop pools.
VM (Desktop) IPv6 Address Management: Select whether to enable IPv6 address configuration for VMs. The default is Disabled. If you select Enabled, you can set the IPv6 address for VMs during VM creation, VM modification, or desktop deployment. If you select Disabled, the VM IPv6 address configuration options are hidden, but the IPv6 address configuration for VMs still retains.
VM (Desktop) Start MAC Address: Specify the start MAC address assigned when deploying the VM on Space Console. The value range for this field is 0c:da:41:1d:03:30 to 0c:da:41:1d:ef:a8. If you do not specify this field, the system uses the default value (0c:da:41:1d:03:30).
VM (Desktop) End MAC Address: Specify the end MAC address assigned when deploying the VM on Space Console. The value range for this field is 0c:da:41:1d:16:b8 to 0c:da:41:1e:03:30. If you do not specify this field, the system uses the default value (0c:da:41:1e:03:30).
| When a VM is converted to an image template, its MAC address will be retained and will not be reclaimed. |
VM (Desktop) Communication IPv4 Address: Enter the Space Console controller address. If the IPv4 address of the Space Console is changed, you must also change the value of this parameter accordingly.
VM (Desktop) Communication IPv6 Address: Enter the Space Console controller address. If the IPv6 address of the Space Console is changed, you must also change the value of this parameter accordingly.
VM (Desktop) Communication Port: Enter a server port number. As a best practice, use the default port number 8860.
Desktop Nesting Display: Configure whether to enable a user to view and use cloud desktops from a client running on a cloud desktop.
If you select Display Desktops & Apps on Client Installed on Cloud Desktop, a user can view and use cloud desktops and applications from a client running on a cloud desktop.
If you select Display Apps on Client Installed on Cloud Desktop, a user can only view and use applications from a client running on a cloud desktop.
Multi-Device Login: Configure whether to allow a user account to be used for login on multiple endpoints. This feature is disabled by default.
Concurrent Access to VNC Console: Configure whether to allow concurrent access of multiple administrators to the VNC console.
Cloud Desktop Maintenance Mode: With this feature enabled, deleting a user (such as deleting a local user or a domain user synchronization) causes the static authorization to be released. The cloud desktop authorized to that user is put into maintenance mode.
Intelligent Optimization Master: Set the status of Intelligent Optimization Master. This feature is disabled by default.
