Perform this task to edit, delete, deploy, download, and distribute VDI desktop images.
From the navigation pane, select Images > Desktop Images.
Click Deploy in the Actions column for the desktop image to be deployed.
Configure VM deployment parameters, and click OK.
Alias: Enter the name of the VM generated through deploying the VM template.
Fast Deployment: Specify whether to enable fast VM deployment based on the VM template. Enabling this feature accelerates the VM deployment and saves the server storage space.
Host: Select a host where the VM is to be deployed, and create a storage file for the VM in the storage pool of the host.
Storage: Configure the storage information for the VM.
Target Storage File: Specify a target storage file for the VM.
Target Storage Pool: Specify a target storage pool for the VM. Click to the right of the Target Storage Pool and select a storage pool on the specified host.
Disk Format: If the Fast Deployment option is not enabled, you must set this parameter.
Inherit Image Disk Format: Enable the VM to inherit the disk format of the image.
Specify Format: Specify the disk format for the VM. Available options are High-Speed (RAW format) and Intelligent (QEMU virtual disk format QCOW2). The high-speed RAW format is simply structured and provides high I/O efficiency. However, the high-speed RAW format does not support snapshots or fast clone.
Network: Configure the network information for the VM.
vSwitch: Select a virtual switch for the VM.
Port Profile: Select a port profile for the VM. The deployed VM can have different VLAN and QoS settings than the VM template.
Bind IP: Allow setting the NIC IP address only through dynamic assignment. If no DHCP server is available, you can modify the IP address through editing the VM.
vFirewall: Specify a virtual firewall for the VM. After the vFirewall configuration is completed, the system filters inbound and outbound packets for the VM based on the vFirewall rules.
From the navigation pane, select Images > Desktop Images.
Click More in the Actions column for the desktop image to be edited. From the dropdown menu, select Edit.
In the dialog box that opens, edit the CPU and memory settings for the desktop image, and click OK.
From the navigation pane, select Images > Desktop Images.
Click More in the Actions column for the desktop image to be deleted. From the dropdown menu, select Delete.
Click OK in the confirmation dialog box that opens.
From the navigation pane, select Images > Desktop Images.
Click More in the Actions column for the desktop image to be downloaded. From the dropdown menu, select Download.
In the dialog box that opens, click Download to start downloading the desktop image.
The desktop image is downloaded to the path set for the browser. |
Perform this task to view the creation and usage of a desktop image.
From the navigation pane, select Images > Desktop Images.
Click More in the Actions column for the desktop image to be checked and tracked. From the dropdown menu, select Integrity Check and Source Track.
The integrity check and source track dialog box opens to start integrity check.
After the check is completed, view the parameters in the dialog box, and click OK to close the dialog box.
Results: Integrity check and source track result.
Template Source: Source of the desktop image.
Operators: Operator that created the desktop image.
Address: IP address of the operator.
Created At: Time when the desktop image was created.
Deployed VMs: Information about VMs using the desktop image.
Modification Records: Modification records of the desktop image.
From the navigation pane, select Images > Desktop Images.
Click More in the Actions column for the desktop image to be distributed. From the dropdown menu, select Distribute.
In the dialog box that opens, configure the distribution information and click OK.
Target Cluster/Host: Specify the target cluster or host to which the desktop image is distributed.
Overwrite Existing: Specify whether to overwrite an existing storage volume with the same name on the target host. The default is No.
Target Storage: Specify the storage pool for the desktop image.
For migration to succeed, do no migrate an image that is being edited, downloaded, distributed, or deployed. |
From the navigation pane, select Images > Desktop Images.
Click More in the Actions column for the desktop image to be migrated. From the dropdown menu, select Migrate.
In the dialog box that opens, select the migration destination address, click OK.
Destination Address: Destination IP address of the desktop image migration.
From the navigation pane, select Images > Desktop Images.
Click More in the Actions column for the desktop image to be edited. From the dropdown menu, select Edit Release Mode.
In the dialog box that opens, select an image release mode.
