Perform this task to view the following information about a VM: CPU usage, memory usage, I/O throughput statistics, network throughput statistics, disk I/O delay, disk request statistics, CPU frequency, disk usage, number of connections, partition usage, GPU/vGPU usage, GPU/vGPU video memory usage, GPU/vGPU encoding rate, and GPU/vGPU decoding rate.
UIS Manager obtains the CPU usage and the memory usage of a VM through CAStools. For correct monitoring of the CPU usage and the memory usage, please install CAStools on a VM.
The system cannot obtain information about a VM and does not display the disk usage or partition usage when the VM is in shutdown or suspended state or CAStools is not installed.
During an online VM migration, the CPU usage, memory usage, I/O throughput, and network throughput of the migrated VM might be incorrect.
On the top navigation bar, click VMs. If multiple clusters exist in the system, you must also select a cluster from the left navigation pane.
Select a VM, and then click the Performance Monitoring tab.
CPU Usage: CPU usage trend graph. The horizontal axis represents the time, and the vertical axis represents the CPU usage.
Memory Usage: Memory usage trend graph. The horizontal axis represents the time, and the vertical axis represents the memory usage.
I/O Throughput Statistics: I/O throughput trend graph for each disk. The unit of measurement is automatically adjusted. The horizontal axis represents the time, and the vertical axis represents the I/O throughput.
Network Throughput Statistics: NIC throughput trend graph. The unit of measurement is automatically adjusted. The horizontal axis represents the time, and the vertical axis represents the NIC throughput.
Disk I/O Delay: Average I/O delay per 30 seconds for each disk. The horizontal axis represents the time, and the vertical axis represents the I/O delay in milliseconds.
IOPS: Average requests of each disk per 30 seconds. The horizontal axis represents the time, and the vertical axis represents the number of requests.
Connections: Connection count trend graph for the past 30 minutes. The horizontal axis represents the time, and the vertical axis represents the number of established TCP connections on the VM. This graph is available after CAStools is installed on the VM.
CPU Frequency: CPU frequency trend graph. The horizontal axis represents the time, and the vertical axis represents the CPU frequency of the host to which the VM is attached.
Disk Usage: Disk usage trend graph. The horizontal axis represents the time, and the vertical axis represents the disk usage. This trend graph is based on the disk usage statistics that the system have for the VM.
Partitions: Information about each partition. The VM system memory occupies storage space. Therefore, the used system partition size might be different from the used disk size displayed on the page for editing a VM. The usage of each partition is obtained from the VM.
GPU/vGPU Usage: GPU/vGPU usage trend graph. The horizontal axis represents the time, and the vertical axis represents the GPU/vGPU usage.
GPU/vGPU Video Memory Usage: GPU/vGPU video memory usage trend graph. The horizontal axis represents the time, and the vertical axis represents the GPU/vGPU video memory usage.
GPU/vGPU Encoding Rate: GPU/vGPU encoding rate trend graph. The horizontal axis represents the time, and the vertical axis represents the GPU/vGPU encoding rate.
