Perform this task to import a VM backup file to the system. The backup file can be used to restore a VM to the state at a specific time. For more information, see "Restore a VM."
Do not restore VMs by importing VMs when the VMs are running correctly, because this operation might cause VM data loss.
On the top navigation bar, click VMs. If multiple clusters exist in the system, you must also select a cluster from the left navigation pane.
Select a VM, and then click the Backup Management tab.
Click Import.
Set the parameters as described in "Parameters," or click Backup Policy to import VMs.
Recovery Mode: Select a VM recovery mode.
Local Directory—Uses a local file to import a VM backup file.
FTP—Uses FTP to import a VM backup file.
SSH/SCP—Uses SSH/SCP to import a VM backup file.
IP Address: Enter the IP address of the remote server. This parameter is available only if the recovery mode is FTP or SSH/SCP.
Username: Enter the username for logging in to the remote server. It must be an account created on the remote FTP or SSH/SCP server.
Password: Enter the password for logging in to the remote server. This parameter is available only if the recovery mode is FTP or SSH/SCP.
Location: Enter the directory of the VM backup file, /vms/images for example.
