Hardware replacement allows you to replace the CPU, memory, motherboard, NIC, RAID controller, and disk backplane of the host used for HCI deployment. This feature provides software-related operations for hardware replacement. For hardware-related operation steps, see the user manual for the appliance.
To replace hardware of the primary management node, first perform a failover in the stateful failover system to switch services to the backup node, and then perform the hardware replacement.
Do not exit the hardware replacement page or refresh the browser while the host is in maintenance mode.
On the top right of the page, click Hot Key, and then select Replace Hardware.
Configure the basic information. Select the target host from a cluster, and then click Next.
Check the status of the host.
The management platform will check the cluster health status, cluster load status, and disk cache before allowing the host to be powered off for disk replacement. All three checks must pass before the host can undergo disk replacement.
To check an item again, click the icon in the Actions column. To view status details for an item, click the
icon in the Actions column.
To skip an item, click Ignore toggle switch.
Click Next.
Prepare for replacement.
Click Enable to place the host in maintenance mode.
Click Shut Down after the host enters maintenance mode, and then click OK to shut down the host.
After the host is shut down, click Next.
Replace hardware.
Replace hardware as prompted. After confirming the hardware information, enter YES to proceed to the next step.
After the system automatically checks the status of the bond port, proceed to the next step. To skip this check, click Ignore toggle switch.
Click Disable to remove the host from maintenance state.
The management platform will check the cluster health status, cluster load status. All three checks must pass before you can finish hardware replacement.
