Create a private domain name

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Services, and then select DNS from the Network menu.

  1. On the Private Domain Name page, click Create.

  1. Configure domain name parameters as described in Table-1, and then click OK.

Parameter

Description

Domain Name

Enter a second-level domain name or sub-domain name.

A string of 1 to 253 characters. A domain of each level must be a string of 1 to 36 characters that contains digits, letters, underlines, hyphens, and must start with a letter or digit and end with a letter, digit, or dot.

A domain name cannot be edited once created.

The private network domain name must be in the X.X.X.in-addr.arpa. format if reverse DNS is used. For more information, see Table-1.

Organization

Select an organization to which the domain name belongs.

Email

Enter the email address of the domain name administrator.

Description

Enter the description for the domain name.

TTL(S)

Set the lifetime of the records on cloud DNS servers. Expired records will be deleted. You can select a TTL value or enter a value manually.

Sharing/Shared Organization

Enable the sharing feature to select organizations that share the private domain name. Only system administrators can enable or disable this feature.
