Tasks at a glance

View detailed VPC information

Perform this task to view detailed VPC information, including the VPC state, IP CIDR, number of private networks, external gateway name, SNAT on/off status, firewall name, private domain name, external subnet name and gateway, organization, and description. This page provides also External Gateways, Private Networks, and Operation Logs tabs for you to view related information.

To view detailed VPC information:

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Services, and then select VPCs from the Network menu.

  1. Click the name of the target VPC.

  1. View detailed information about the VPC.

  1. To view the external gateway list, private network list, and operation log list, click the External Gateways, Private Networks, and Operation Logs tabs, respectively.

Add subnets

If the current VPC network segment cannot meet the needs, you can add subnets to the VPC network. The added subnets are displayed as supplemented subnets on the VPC list page and VPC detailed information page. You can create a private network and deploy services on this subnet.

Restrictions and guidelines

Procedure

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Services, and then select VPCs from the Network menu.

  1. Click More in the Actions column for the target VPC, and then select Expand.

  1. Enter the subnets, and then click Add.

  1. Click OK.

Delete added subnets

Prerequisites

You cannot delete an added subnet to which resources have been allocated. To delete it, first release the IP addresses used or reserved for the subnet.

Procedure

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Services, and then select VPCs from the Network menu.

  1. Click More in the Actions column for the target VPC, and then select Expand.

  1. Click the Delete icon to the right of the target subnet to delete it.

  1. Click OK.

Edit a VPC

You can perform this task to edit the name and description of a VPC.

To edit a VPC:

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Services, and then select VPCs from the Network menu.

  1. Click the name of the target VPC.

  1. Click Edit in the upper right corner of the page that opens.

  1. Edit the parameters.

To edit the VPC name, click the name box. After you enable IPv6, configure an IPv6 CIDR.

  1. Click OK.

Delete VPCs

You cannot directly delete VPCs configured with private networks. To delete such a VPC, delete its private networks first.

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Services, and then select VPCs from the Network menu.

  1. Perform either of the following tasks:

  1. Click OK.

Set an external gateway

For cloud hosts in a VPC to access the Internet, set an external gateway for the VPC.

To set an external gateway:

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Services, and then select VPCs from the Network menu.

  1. Click More in the Actions column for the target VPC and then click Set External Gateway.

  1. Select an elastic network and its subnet and specify an elastic IP.

  1. Click OK.

Detach an external gateway

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Services, and then select VPCs from the Network menu.

  1. Click More in the Actions column for the target VPC and then click Detach External Gateway.

  1. Click the  icon for the target external gateway to detach the gateway.

  1. Click OK.

Attach a firewall to a VPC

You can attach a firewall to a VPC to safeguard communication between cloud hosts or between cloud hosts and the Internet.

To attach a firewall to a VPC:

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Services, and then select VPCs from the Network menu.

  1. Click More in the Actions column for the target VPC and click Attach to Firewall.

  1. Click Attach to Firewall for the target firewall.

Detach the firewall from a VPC

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Services, and then select VPCs from the Network menu.

  1. Click More in the Actions column for the target VPC and click Detach from Firewall.

  1. Click OK.

Connect to an external subnet

Perform this task to connect the VPC to an external elastic subnet to enable communication between the VPC and the subnet.

Prerequisites

For the VPC to connect to a subnet of an elastic network, make sure the egress of the elastic network is named as "operating_mode=EXCLUSIVE". An elastic network with this egress name does not support the multi-egress setting, suitable for binding to a VPC (or a classic network router).

  1. During network planning, create an elastic network egress and name it as "operating_mode=EXCLUSIVE". For more information, see the elastic network egress creation procedure.

  1. Create an elastic network and specify "operating_mode=EXCLUSIVE" as its egress. For more information, see the elastic network creation procedure.

  1. Create a subnet on the newly created elastic network and use "operating_mode=EXCLUSIVE" as the default egress of the subnet. For more information, see the subnet creation procedure. This subnet can connect to the VPC (or the classic network router).

Procedure

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Services, and then select VPCs from the Network menu.

  1. Click More in the Actions column for the target VPC and then click Connect to External Subnet.

  1. Select the target elastic subnet and then click Connect in the Actions column.

Disconnect from an external subnet

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Services, and then select VPCs from the Network menu.

  1. Click More in the Actions column for the target VPC and then click Disconnect from the External Subnet.

  1. Select the target elastic subnet and then click Disconnect in the Actions column.

Edit the gateway priority

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Services, and then select VPCs from the Network menu.

  1. Click More in the Actions column for the target VPC and click Edit Gateway Priority.

  1. Edit the gateway priority. The higher the value, the greater the priority. You can set the same priority for different gateways.

  1. Click OK.

Expand SNAT IP addresses

Expand SNAT IP addresses in a VPC. If an external gateway is not set, this feature will be grayed out, and a prompt to set an external gateway will be displayed.

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Services, and then select VPCs from the Network menu.

  1. Click More in the Actions column for the target VPC and click Expand.

  1. Enter SNAT IP address. This parameter is not mandatory and only supports IPv4 addresses. The IP addresses must be within the subnet address pool of the external gateway. Separate multiple IP addresses with line breaks.

  1. Click OK.
