You can perform the following host maintenance tasks:
Remotely wake up hosts that have been shut down without being powered off.
Shut down hosts.
Place hosts in standby mode.
Restart running hosts.
CAS hosts support all host maintenance operations except placing a host in standby mode.
VMware hosts support all host maintenance operations except the shutdown operation.
Before you can maintain a host, you must place that host in maintenance mode.
On the top navigation bar, click Resources.
From the left navigation pane, select Virtualization.
In the Virtualization menu pane, select a compute resource pool, and then select the cluster that contains the target host.
Click the Hosts tab.
Click More in the Actions column for a host, and then select an option as needed:
To wake up the host, select Remote Wakeup.
To shut down the host, select Shut Down.
To place the host in standby mode, select Standby.
To restart the host, select Restart.
