Create a classic network

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Services, and then select Classic Networks from the Network menu.

  1. Click Create.

  1. Configure classic network parameters and then click OK.

Parameter

Description

Name

Specify the name for the classic network. After you enable FLAT network for the classic network, the name must contain the value of neutron_black_list. When the black_list_matching parameter is set to prefix, the value must be the prefix of the name. When black_list_matching is set to suffix, the value must be the suffix of the name. For more information about this setting, see "Configure the FLAT network setting."

Organization

Specify the organization that uses the network.

Network Egress

Select the network egress, an egress specified at compute node deployment.

AZ

Select AZs. This field displays available AZs for the selected network egress. At host creation, the system displays available networks based on the selected AZ.

Create Subnet

Select whether to create subnets for the classic network. If you select Yes, the system redirects you to the subnet creation page after the classic network creation.

Sharing

Select whether to share the network in organization root. This field is available only for system administrators.

Shared Organization

Specify a shared organization after enabling network sharing. The default setting All Organizations means to share the network in all organizations. Specify Organization means to share the network in the specified organization.

FLAT Network

Specify whether the classic network is a FLAT network. This field is displayed when FLAT network is enabled for the classic network.

Segment ID

Specify the VLAN ID or VXLAN ID. This field is not displayed when FLAT network is enabled for the classic network.

MTU

Specify the MTU in the range of 1280 to 9000. The default value is 1500. This parameter is available only when MTU is enabled. To enable MTU, see "Configure MTU."

CAUTION Caution:

An inappropriate MTU value affects services and can even cause traffic interruption. Make sure you set and edit the MTU according to the actual network condition.
