In CAS E0780 and later versions, CVM systems use the Euler operating system. To upgrade a CVM system to a version that uses the Euler operating system, perform this task to migrate data to a CVM system that uses the Euler operating system. After data migration, the CVM system that uses the Euler operating system will connect to all the hosts managed by the source CVM system. However, the new features in the CVM system that uses the Euler operating system are not available on those hosts. After data migration, the source CVM system is unavailable.
Before data migration, verify the following information:
No cluster, host, or VM data exists on the CVM system that uses the Euler operating system.
The size of the database partition on the source CVM system is not larger than the size of the database partition on the CVM system that uses the Euler operating system.
No frozen VMs exist on the source CVM system.
The source CVM system and the CVM system that uses the Euler operating system both have the CIC and SSV components installed or both have none of them installed.
Hosts in the same cluster use the same software version and the shared file systems or RBD network storage is used by only one cluster.
In the stateful failover scenario, enter the IP address of the primary node when you configure CVM information.
In normal mode, use system administrator admin for data migration. In role-based access control mode, use system administrator sysadmin for data migration and make sure both Euler and non-Euler versions are in role-based access control mode.
If the container engine is deployed in the source CVM system, the container engine is unavailable after data migration. To use the container engine, perform the following tasks:
Upgrade the container engine version for the source CVM system to the container engine for the CVM system that uses the Euler operating system.
Re-configure the container engine on the System > Parameters > Container Settings page.
The backup policies on the source CVM system are available on the Euler CVM system. However, you must manually add backup policy pools.
After data migration, you must manually restart the iSCSI template pool.
As a best practice, do not use VM templates created in a higher-version system to deploy VMs in a CVK host that uses a lower software version.
On the top navigation bar, click System.
From the left navigation pane, select Data Migration.
Click Migrate.
In the dialog box that opens, configure parameters for logging in to the OS of the CVM system, compatibility check, data migration, re-enabling cluster HA, and connecting hosts as described in "Parameters."
Click Finish Migration.
Click OK.
Set CVM Access Info
IP Address: Specify the IP address of the non-Euler CVM system. Only E0730P06 and E0730 versions later than E0730P06 and E076X non-Euler CVM systems support data migration.
Username: Specify the root username used for logging in to the OS of the non-Euler CVM system.
Password: Specify the root password used for logging in to the OS of the non-Euler CVM system.
Re-enable Cluster HA
Cluster Name: Name of the cluster on the non-Euler CVM system.
Result: Result for re-enabling cluster HA.
Connect All Hosts
Host Name: Name of the host.
