Create an alarm rule

You can create an alarm rule for a link tracking instance to monitor the success ratio, health state, throughput, and response time of all applications in the instance. When an anomaly occurs, the system generates an alarm.

The alarm rule for a link tracking instance takes effect on all applications in the instance.

To create an alarm rule:

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Services, and then select Application Diagnostics from the App Service menu.

  1. From the left navigation pane, select Application Alarm > Alarm Rules.

  1. Click Create, configure the parameters as needed, and then click OK.

Metrics

  • Application success ratio in percentage.

  • Application health state in percentage.

  • Application throughput in number of times.

  • Application response time in milliseconds.

Polling interval

Specify the alarm statistics polling interval.

Alarm statistics will occupy system resources. The shorter the polling interval, the more resources occupied. Set an appropriate polling interval as needed. For example, you can set a short polling interval for a critical metric.

Continuous data points

When the value for the specified metric exceeds the threshold, the system generates an alarm.

Alarm frequency

Select an alarm frequency.

Severity

Select an alarm severity.

Notification

Select whether to send notifications when an alarm is generated. To send notifications, enter the email addresses of the contacts. Separate multiple email addresses by comma (,).
