Procedure

Description

Create a service gateway

Create a gateway instance for access to backend services.

Create an API group

Create an API group. When you create an API, you can select an API group for it. An API provider can perform lifecycle management of APIs, including adding, deleting, filtering, disabling, and enabling APIs.

Publish an API

The API provider encapsulates its service capabilities into APIs and publish the APIs to a service gateway for access to backend services through the APIs.

Configure policies for an API

Configure the following types of policies and apply the policies to APIs for API access control:

  • Proxy caching policy—A proxy caching policy enables a service gateway to cache API information for API calling of the same user to reduce workloads for access to backend services.

  • API request throttling—You can configure a request throttling policy to limit the number of API requests per second, per minute, per hour, and per day.

  • Security control policy—You can configure access and authentication policies to secure APIs.

Configure an API package

Configure an API package and add APIs to the package for ease of subscription.
